i shoot a guy 4 times in the head with a dmr and before i can get the last shot some other guy shoots him from the side and i get an assist… i swear it wasnt like this in reach.

Assists are a good thing. They were more or less absent in Reach. Id rather have 0 kills and 18 assists than 18 kills and 0 assists. Team play wise…
Yes it was. If you don’t get the last hit, you don’t get the kill.
assist means “helped”, helped is shot him once or twice to “help” my teammate get the kill and get a small reward for doing so.
