The server issues seem worse after the update

I reinstalled the game a couple of days ago because Forge came out and I wanted to give the new Multiplayer offerings a try.

Unfortunately, the first strike came when I wasn’t even able to load a map to try out the feature that I had been waiting for since the game’s release (I play on a Series X), the second strike was the removal of Bot Boot Camp from the playlists, and the third and final strike was the overall poor server performance when I decided to play Multiplayer after Forge refused to work.

Aside from desync issues that prevented some of my shots from connecting, I had to deal with several spikes of lag and high latency. I promptly uninstalled the game again yesterday due to a string of horrible match ups that were exacerbated by the game’s poor online performance issues. I am not playing this game again for the foreseeable future.

I played some more games online yesterday. I wanna say a total of ~16. Only 5 laggy games.
Today i played 6 game without lag or desync. If 343i really going to “force me” to come back with a good time?

Yeah but you understand you’re still getting lag, and that alot of the crowd on here are getting REALLY bad lag? No t what I would call a good time.

Fixy fixy

I’m having the same experience on Xbox. Nov 8th was a bit rough on launch at maximum of 100 ms ping times (but an improvement over my usual 250+ ms ping times). November 9th it was smoother and less spikey (30 to 40 for QuickPlay, 50 to 70 for BTB) and today Nov 10th has been some of the consistently low ping time games (25 ms for QuickPlay and 30 ms for BTB) I’ve ever had.

I’m actually starting to enjoy myself and will work at getting better instead of just walking away.

Yes I do. I’m fine with a little lag here and there. No online game has ever been lag free after all. My big issue was that most of my games on infinite were extremally laggy. For now I’m having a good time so i will keep playing.

I understand that., but I’m speaking about my own experience. Anyone still getting lag for most of their games should keep letting 343i know about it and even stop playing the game until the network issues are fixed for everyone.

No one except the fans will care since they’re too busy looking at Zelda and Toy Story recreated in Forge by some guy, and you can’t even play those maps.

My version of Infinite has gone full blow MCC launch state adn gives me dedicated server erros everytime I try to seach
If I force close the build and try to restart it it just hands on the loading screen and I have to hard reset the xbox.

Same here on Xbox One X. One day of good games and low (<40 ms BTB, < 25 ms 4v4) ping, the next day it might sit at 120 ms for everything. It’s clearly 343 shifting us to different servers because populations are dropping in some zones. Even with the “Local” rgion option on it’s a crap shoot as to what you get.

I’ve experienced everything everyone is saying. But, I’ve had a few games where it spiked to no joke 2000-3000 ping and I literally want to throw my Xbox out the window.

It’s 2022… Never were these problems an issue in 05 during Halo 2… This is a joke.

I’m sorry you had to experience 3000 ping that beats my score of 1500-2000… hopefully we get a fix sometime soon!

Played some BTB last night and was noticing ping fluctuation and once again when I would start sprinting I would start to glitch and teleport. However, this time when I stopped sprinting its almost like the game couldn’t decided where it wanted to put me because I wasn’t even touching the controller and it kept glitching me forward and back between two spots, first time it has done this with me not even touching the controller.

That’s Rubber Banding. I get it sporadically in HI and it’s also part of the whole De-Synch thing.

BattleField 4 for about 6+ months had that as well. It was maddening when you rush forward and cover about 50 feet, then it would glitch you back to where you started from.

with local settings selected I got mostly 50 ms pings (nearest server is 30 ms away) but the deeync was incredible. Most of the games felt like aim assist was completely missing. Back to expanded the occasional US servers are back bit it feels better… or at least as bad as before.

I think we just have to accept it: infinites netcode is utter trash.

I was getting best 70, not great, not bad, very uncommonly over 100, but after the update, just about everything is up to 150 at time. Desync is worse for me now then ever before.

Fun thing: many games start at 50 or 40 and after a few minutes they settle at 30 like the used to be. Plus, with local the game is dead in EU…
Desync and lag is way worse with local settings. All in all: a failed update/addition.

What needs to be offered: select the exact server region (Amsterdam or Ireland for example) and allow only players with a certain ping range to join on these servers. Problem: the game needs to multiply the population by 10 for this to even remotely working.

Today the hit registration is absolutely garbage! This is the worse I’ve seen it so far. Constantly getting shot around corners and enemies sponging.

Week 1 was trash
Week 2 was amazing
Week 3 is trash again.

I could not of said it any better “complete trash”! It’s crazy MCC works better than HI! If it is wasn’t for the forge update letting this game have content when it did the net code would have sunk this game even if it does have a following!
