The sequel to halo 5 (Fan made)

This will be a weekly thing, I’ll upload one new mssion or story chunk every friday, if I can. If this gets enough traction, I may do other parts of the game I would like to see as well. If you have any feedback (positive or otherwise) please post down below. I will try to respond ASAP. Thanks for coming guys, and I hope you enjoy!

-Mission 1, The guardians of the universe-

The screen opens up, entirely silent. It montages the humanity losing power, guardians causing massive destruction. It cuts to Lasky looking at an AI, in his hand, conflicted. He crushes the chip, looks up, and the sound comes in. People are shouting all over the command bridge, trying to get their own ship under control.
Lasky: (Snapping back into reality, turning to a ship worker) I need to communicate with Locke!
Ship worker: We can’t whilst we are in hyperspace!
Lasky: (Turning to the pilots)Come out of slipspace. But as soon as we enter real-space you need to deactivate all power.
Pilots: Yes sir.
Lasky: (Turning back to the ship worker) I need feet on the ground. Get a team of marines to find Locke.
Pilot: Where are we going, sir?
Lasky: Palmers last received transmission was on Sanghelios. So we’ll go to Suban.
Pilot: The moon?
Lasky: Just go!
Pilot: Yes sir
The ship worker hits a switch to activate an alarm. The alarm rings throughout the ship, and all warning lights begin to flash red. The camera cuts to a squad of marines entering the pelican, and the doors closing. The marines exchange some banter, as suddenly, the pelican rocks massively. They all stumble, as the pelicans pilot shouts through to the marines:
Pelican pilot: Prepare for launch!
The pelican is shown to fly out of the hanger as the door opens. The pelican pilot sees the planet of Sanghelios, with a guardian hovering above it. The guardian turns to the pelican, as it starts to move out of the way of the infinity. The pelican continues on course, when the guardian attacks. The pulse sends the pelican flying off course. The screen cuts to back into the pelican, with red lights flashing everywhere. Alarms are beeping, when the squad leader shouts:
Squad leader: HOLD ON!
The marines all grab onto the chairs at the sides, as the squad leader hits the button to open the door. The pelican regains a modest control, and begins to fly to a canyon on the planet. The pilot can’t pull the pelican up quickly enough, so shouts through to the marines:
Pelican pilot: JUMP OUT NOW!
The few with parachutes jump out first, with the others remaining in the pelican, holding on for the hope of survival. As the pelican crashes, infinity is shown flying by the planet in the background, but the guardian fires again, forcing the infinity downward. The ship begins to head toward the ground, and crashes, with a massive BANG! Dust flies in all directions, and engulfs the remainder of the pelican and the few who survived. As the dust settles, we see the infinity, burning in the background, and the pelican burning in the foreground. The screen cuts to black, with the ‘Halo 6’ logo being shown as the only text.
The screen opens back showing blue team and fireteam osiris on a hill above the infinity, looking down on it. You gain control of chief, and begin to go down to the crash. On the way down, the two teams are talking about how this happened, and their next move to stop cortana:
Locke: That guardian is not letting up.
Buck: Your telling me.
Tanaka: It looks like they de-activated their systems before they landed, probably to avoid cortana.
Fred: What are we gonna do, chief?
Chief raises his fist, to signify stopping.
NOTE: Chief will not be talking much in this story, as thats his character, a man of few words but many talents. His humanity should be shown by his actions, not his words.
The teams hold still, as they see prometheans entering the ship.
Locke: We need to stop them from killing the crew!
Fred: We know, Locke. We’ve got this.
Buck: Now hang on, if I remember correctly, Locke kicked chiefs -Yoink-! So I think-
The blues all look at buck.
Buck: Uhhh… If I remember correctly you said you guys had it… So, what are we gonna do?
Locke: We are going to follow chiefs lead.
Chief signals the team to move
Tanaka: I think we both know chief won that fight.
Buck: Its all a matter of perspectives, Tanaka.
The Ai follow your lead, as you investigate the ship. Prometheans are absent in the ship as you move through it for the most part, with just a few here and there. The player and the team must head toward the bridge. Lots of dead crew members are lying all over the place. The place is destroyed, with most of it collapsing in on itself. The team continues through the ship, with conversation going on about the lack of prometheans. Throughout all of this, chief is silent, and so is Locke. They are leading the pack together, with Locke’s Ai keeping up with the player. The team reach the hanger, which is massive.
Locke: Watch out for those pelicans. The prometheans could easily be hiding in them.
Chief stops, and looks at a dead marine, and bows his head. The others just continue going, with only blue team staying a little behind to stay with chief.
Locke: This is too quiet. Chief! We should move!
Prometheans pile out from all types of gaps in the structure of the ship, and out of the pelicans.
NOTE: Here will be a fun battle, showing off some of the new promethean mechanics like watchers being able to pick up crawlers and move them out of danger or knights being able to kill soldiers to regain health etc.
After the prometheans are dispatched, Tanaka hears tapping and banging via one of her devices.
Tanaka: Its morse code!
Locke: What does it say!
Buck: I don’t think we’ll be alone for long
Fred: I agree
(Banging sounds of incoming prometheans can be heard)
-Buck sighs-
Tanaka: It says bridge.
Buck: Maybe it means some sort of ancient sangheili bridge or something?
Kelly: It means the command bridge.
They begin to head toward the command bridge.
Vale: (In Sangheili) That was obvious.
Buck: What does that mean?
Linda: It means be quiet, we don’t want to get attacked.
The team take an elevator on the far side of the hangar to go to the command bridge. The lift, however can only hold 3 spartans at a time, so Chief, Locke and Vale head up first.
Locke: I’ll take left. Vale, you take left and Chief, you take centre.
Vale: Got it
Chief just aims his gun forwards, whilst Locke in the background just shake his head
Locke:(Mumbling)He never notices. He never ever notices
Chief: I heard that.
Locke: I was just… Saying… Uhhh
Suddenly, the elevator stops.
Locke: (over comms) Tanaka! Why did the elevator stop?!
Tanaka: (Muffled by poor comms) Don’t ask me!
Suddenly, the door opens, and a massive crowd of prometheans are standing outside the door. They all turn around, and you have to defend the elevator.
Once it starts up again, a cutscene plays, showing the group heading up to the command deck. The door opens for a bloodied crew member to be standing behind an overturned desk pointing their gun at the elevator. The group take another step in, to see an ambush set up to deal with the prometheans.
-End of Mission 1-

dang

It’s me. (the guy on yt who suggested you put it up here). I really like the changes you’ve made to the story. Can’t wait till the next part.

Thanks TroiTheBoy03 for the support!

Its shaping up great, but i dont get why the hostility Buck tried to bring up about chief getting owned by locke. It just felt off especially the last thing you want to do it piss off a grp of spartan IIs you want to work together with. Aside from that, good work!

I’d still like some lines for the chief still if it’s a story.

But still very good.

-Mission 2, Fleeting moments-
Lasky comes to the front of the group, limping.
Lasky: Guns down, everyone.
Locke: That was a risky move, sir. I’m not sure if risks are what we should be dealing with sir.
Lasky: Risks are all we should be dealing with Locke. (He turns from Locke and walks to his chair) Now I need to know what happened with cortana.
-Chief leaves the room-
Locke: He won’t tell, sir.
Lasky: Any idea why?
Locke: She went rogue, sir. Hes only human. He has feelings, he feels betrayed, sir.
Lasky: This is not what we need right now. I need you to get that information from him. Asap.
Locke: Affirmative. But I need to know everything on your end.
Lasky: Thats not your business. Now do your job.
Locke glares at Lasky, nods his head once, and turns to leave.
Lasky: The Ai. They are against us, now. I don’t know anything else.
Locke:(Losing faith) Tha-
He doesn’t finish, and just leaves.
The elevator opens, with Fred and Tanaka exiting. They look to Lasky, who is now sitting in his chair, his head in one hand, and in the other is a crushed Ai in the other. He stares at the crushed chip, closes his hand, and points to the door chief and Locke left through. The pair head through, with Lasky turning back to his chair. It cuts to Locke trying to talk to chief.
Locke: We need to tell Lasky about what happened with cortana
Fred: (Coming through with Tanaka and Vale): We’ve got bigger problems.
Locke:(Turning to Fred) What?
Tanaka: The others were forced to flee. The got overrun.
Locke: Vale, tell Lasky to lock down the ship. We don’t want the prometheans escaping with the others. Chief, and Fred, your with me. Tanaka, try and pick up their signal from within the ship. Try to make contact if possible.
Tanaka, Vale: Got it
Fred turns to chief. Chief nods.
Fred: We’re in.
They all gear up, and the three spartans go into the elevator, in search for the other three.
The following mission revolves around a semi-open world map full of tight corridors and wrecked vehicles. The missing spartans drop off beacons every so often, which Tanaka informs you about. You go to these, and if they are still there, then the mission continues, else you must continue searching.
Once you find the others, you’ve got to find your way back to the elevator. Upon reaching the elevator, the 2 at the bridge come down, and the teams meet up again.
Locke: Right. We need Lasky to get us out of here, in a warthog or two.
Tanaka: I already located the locations of two hogs.
Linda: I’ll drive.
Buck: I call turret!
The teams head off to get to the warthog, and find that they are both transporter hogs.
Buck: Oh come on!
The teams get in the hogs, as the doors open up to phaetons flying overhead, fighting the arbiters forces, with many of the phaetons turning to the teams. The player is the driver of one hog, and a hectic driving sequence with phaetons firing upon you in the sky, and phantoms crashing into your path. In the skyline, the guardian is being attacked by the arbiters forces, with the arbiters forces being annihilated in the fight. The blasts of the guardian shake the ground beneath you, and the guardian slowly falls into the atmosphere. Meanwhile, the fireteam is commenting on the guardian fight.
Linda: Look! Up at the sky!
Kelly: The arbiter, his forces are attacking!
Buck: They- They’re…Losing.
Linda: Its coming into the atmosphere! We have to get to the arbiter soon, or else we’ll miss the evac!
Just as this is said, the arbiters phantom rises up from a nearby cliff, as the chief swings the warthog around. The team all get out, with the arbiter helping them on. The chief is the last to get onto the phantom. He turns around, and sees cortana.
Cortana: Chief. Come with me. I need you to come with me.
The chief just turns.
Cortana: CHIEF! Please. John, I need you.
The doors close behind the master chief, and the phantom flies off. Leaving Cortana standing there by herself. She stands for a while, and turns to the infinity.
The screen cuts to the arbiter and his army flying to his spaceships. Blue team are sitting at the back, watching fireteam osiris attempt to reason with the arbiter.
Arbiter: (Aimed at Locke) What is going on out there! This was not what I expected to get into agent Locke!
Locke: This is what we are going to stop! We can’t do this without your help, and without ours, you are as good as dead.
Arbiter: That is a lie! (Coming close to locke) We can handle ourselves. We don’t need to get into this fight.
Locke: When you agreed to help me, you should have expected this. Either way, we still need each other.
Arbiter: I am afraid to disappoint you, Agent, but this is where we go our separate ways. The sangheili will not sacrifice themselves for your crusades any longer!
Buck: Now hang on, we helped you through your crusades! We risked our lives helping you! Now we only ask you return the favour.
Arbiter: Stand down, boy.
Buck turns to Locke.
Locke: Stand down, Buck. However, arbiter, he is right. You owe us one. Will you help us, so you never have to again.
Arbiter:(Reluctantly) Aye. We will help you, one last time.
Locke reaches out for a handshake, but the arbiter walks past. He walks over to chief.
Arbiter: How are you old friend?
Chief looks at him, and stands.
Chief: Fine.
Arbiter: (laughs) No shortage on words then, old friend.
Elite pilot from the cockpit: We are approaching the shipmasters fleet.
Chief looks out at the fleet.
It is gigantic, thousands of ships all assembling under one massive ex-covenant centre ship. The phantom flies toward the centre ship, as the shipmaster contacts the arbiter.
-End of mission 2-

Sounds decent, I’ll keep an eye out for later missions.
One thing though, I would probably add some spacing, with bold and italic sections to better differentiate between characters, dialogue and general information.
It will make it a bit easier to read that all.

Thanks for your support guys, I am taking the comments on board for next week.

I’m enjoying the story, great job, keep it up!

I like it. But I’m not a fan of how you’re portraying the Chief. You’re going with the old Bungie-era walking shell, and I don’t like that. He was only ever that silent in the games, but in the novels he was always much more vocal, something 343 picked up on and put into the games.

Same sorta goes with how he’s dealing with Cortana… but then again I’ve been against this behavior since day one, as I see it as pushing the fans emotions onto him(which they are).

But overall, I think it’s pretty decent.

Edit: Finished Mission 2… pretty decent but not as good as the first one. I’m not gonna lie but I didn’t like the ending at all. Where did Cortana come from? How is she physical now? It was all just too rushed. Also, everyone seemed to be out of character in most parts in this chapter… err, mission. It honestly seems you’re pushing how you want them to act in this, and not how they actually would. But still, can’t wait to see where this goes next.

Ps, I’d recommend cooling down on the Goofy Buck a bit. He has his moments, but he is serious at times too, you know. He’s not Jar Jar.

That’s deep brah.

AftermaTh XCVII I see where you are coming from with the speechless chief thing, but sadly I can’t have it both ways… If I make him speak, some will be annoyed at it and vice versa. In all honesty, for the character of chief, for his speech I just went with personal preference, as there is no way to please everyone.

The whole character of Buck, I definitely agree. I wrote these two missions last week, and literally everyone agrees with you. I have tried to tone him down a little in the next one, so hopefully that will rectify that mistake.

In all fairness, I probably should have explained how the bit at the end with cortana was, in fact a hallucination from the chief. I do apologise, it wasn’t made at all clear.

The characters being out of character, I intended at least was them reacting to the direness of the situation. Although, I do agree that this may be not exactly how they acted.

Thankyou for the insightful comment, it will help me for doing the next one.

I think this is really good for something fan made!

-Mission 3: Slipspace-
Shipmaster: Arbiter! We have been sustaining heavy damage from these creatures! We had to retreat
Arbiter: Damn. How many ships do we have left?
Shipmaster: What you see.
Arbiter: (Sighs) We are coming aboard. I will discuss with you then.
Shipmaster: Yes Arbiter.
The radio cuts off.
Locke: We need to return to earth, to talk to Serin Osman. Can you get us there?
Arbiter: If our slipspace drives still work, then yes. Else, No.
Locke: Alright. Lets hope that drive is still operational.
The camera shows the phantom entering the main ship. As the teams exit, elite honour guards approach, surrounding the arbiter. The group all walk through the elites ship, heading towards the command deck. There, they meet with the shipmaster.
Shipmaster: (Pointing to a hologram of a guardian) What are these beasts?
Arbiter looks at Locke
Locke: They are guardians. Sent by a rogue AI known as ‘Cortana’.
Arbiter: (Turning to the chief) This is her! What happened?
Chief: Its complicated.
Arbiter: (Turning back to shipmaster) We must get to the planet earth.
Locke: Does the slipspace drive still work?
Shipmaster: Of course!
Locke: We need to go to the-
A massive explosion is heard on the ship, with the entire place shaking.
Shipmaster: What was that?
Elite: Hostiles have boarded our ship, they breached the starboard hull!
Arbiter: Send Elites to secure the affected area, Chief, take your squad to secure the slipspace drive.
The two teams leave to go to the slipspace drive. The following mission takes place aboard the elites flagship, with prometheans attacking from all angles. The spaces are tight, and barely able to hold all of the team members. As you approach the slipsace drive, the screen has a distortion effect on it, to represent the drives abilities. Once you have entered the room, a boss battle ensues. The drive is in the centre, with platforms around the entire room. There is a massive hull breach on the left side of the room, which will have a constant stream of crawlers coming through it.
The boss is a promethean walker, having four legs and an underslung cannon attached the central hull. On its back is a floating orange orb of energy.
The mechanics are as follows:
The cannon does half of your healths worth of damage
Every time one of your allies die, the orb on the back of the walker gets bigger.
To damage the walker, you must first wait for it to fire, and then jump onto its back, and jump into the orb. In the orb, you will be held still above the walker, and you will be told to hold ‘X’. Holding X will damage you and the walker, based on how long you hold X. If you hold it for 10 seconds, it will deal 70% of your health, and 30% of the walkers.
Once you have killed the walker, the Arbiter calls you:
Arbiter: (Over comms)Is the slipspace drive safe?
Buck: (Over comms)Yeah, its safe.
Tanaka: Why have they stopped attacking?
Linda: I doubt they have. They are going to attack somewhere else.
A slipspace rupture appears outside of the ship.
Buck: Oh Sh*t!
Locke: What?
Buck: They’re gonna ambush us!
Fred: They are already at earth!
The ship goes into slipspace, as fireteam osiris sprint to the bridge. Blue team, instead raise their weapons, and aim out of the hull breach.
Locke: (Over comms)ARBITER GET DON’T GO THROUGH SLIPSPACE!
Arbiter: (Running toward Locke and his team) Shipmaster, get us out of Slipspace!
The ship comes out of slipspace, and the ship shakes violently
Buck: (Panicking) Its too late! We need to get on a phantom!
The arbiter and his guard run meet up with fireteam Osiris.
Arbiter: Where is the chief?
Locke: The slipspace drive
The arbiter begins to run to the drive.
Locke: Arbiter! We need to go! Now!
Arbiter: I will not leave him behind.
Locke: Osiris, follow the arbiter!
But when the Arbiter reaches the slipspace drive room, all he sees is blue team (except for the chief) laying unconscious, scattered around the floor.
Arbiter: (To his guard)Swing my phantom around to the breach! Spartans, collect your teammates. Bring them to the phantom.
Tanaka: Where is chief?
Arbiter: Get aboard the phantom.
The Arbiters phantom flies by the hull breach, and blue team are carried on by fireteam osiris. The arbiter goes into the ship along with Locke.
Locke: Get us out of here!
Elite honour guard: Arbiter?
Arbiter: Get us out of here.
Elite honour guard: As you wish.
The phantom flies away, narrowly avoiding the promethean ships and their projectiles. The camera shifts to the front of the phantom, with it approaching. Once it reaches the camera, it cuts to black.
Buck: So, where do you think chief is?
Arbiter: Missing in action.
-End of Mission 3-

Well sounds like Cortana got the Chief but it’s nice to see Arbiters loyalty to him.

-Mission 4: The domain-
The screen opens back with the master chief. He is opening his eyes, to find himself surrounded by soldiers. They are all standing in two uniform lines, facing inwards. At the end of the lines, is Cortana. The chief stands up, looks around and sees himself in the domain. She walks towards him, but stops halfway.
Chief: Cortana?
Cortana: Why do you not join me?
Chief turns away from her.
Cortana: This is what you- We wanted. Peace in the galaxy. I can do that, you just have to trust me.
Chief turns back to her.
Chief: No.
Cortana: Please.
The chief raises his magnum to her, and fires. As the bullet goes through her, she shatters, and the soldiers all raise their weapons. A fight insues, with lots of soldiers attacking you whilst you are inside the domain. It is a labyrinth, at the end of which you find yourself in the planet genesis. Strangely, the planet is empty. As the player explores the planet, they may notice occasional sights of enemies, crawling along the hills. The chief will eventually walk to a cliff, at which point, a guardian will appear through a portal, right in front of the chief. The force of which knocks him back. The guardian prepares to fire, as the chief struggles to regain his footing. When he does gain his footing, he begins to run away from the guardian. The guardian fires, sending chief flying away from it. He is slammed into a rockface, with a sharp rock sticking out going straight into his chest, grunting as he does so, he uses the rock to get himself back up, and continues to flee, going between two cliff faces. He begins to hear Cortana speak to him as he limps away, grasping his chest in pain.
Cortana: Come back, John. This is what we wanted! Join me in creating peace throughout the galaxy! This is our time to save the galaxy one last time!
The chief begins to slow down, beginning to sway more as he limps. He slowly starts to keel over, looking at his hand, and seeing lots of blood. Looking to the cliffs, he sees prometheans swarming around his position.
Cortana: One last chance, John.
The chief falls to his knees, looks at the blood on his hand, and clenching it into a fist. In one swift motion, he looks to a nearby cave, turns to it, grabs his assault rifle in one hand, his magnum in the other and opens fire on the prometheans whilst simultaneously running toward the cave. As he enters, the screen cuts to black.

The screen opens back up with Locke, the two teams and the Arbiter landing on earth inside of the phantom. The phantom lands in a UNSC base, with the doors quickly opening, revealing blue team being carried out by fireteam Osiris, following Locke. The arbiter trails behind, looking around the place. Locke marches directly into the base, which has the ONI logo planted on the door.
Locke: Wait outside.
Marines are on the inside of the door, trying to prevent Locke from entering a room full of ONI leaders, but he barges past them without any effort. The leaders are all gathered around a long desk that extends to the end of the room.
Locke: (Looking at the desk) The chief is gone. He was taken by Cortana. (Looking back up at the head of the desk) I need a team of marines to storm Genesis. If we do that, and we find the chief, we may have a chance at stoppi-
Oni official: Hold on, Locke. You can’t just come in here and order us around.
Locke: I apologise, sir. I just need a team of marines.
Oni official #2: Noted. We’ll discuss it, and if agreed, we’ll take action in a week.
Locke: A week? Thats too long!
Oni official: A week locke.
Locke, defeated, walks out of the door, and slams it behind him. He heads out to fireteam osiris.
Buck: So?
Locke: We are to get a team of marines together, devise a plan, and storm genesis with the elites.
Tanaka: I’ll tell the elites.
Buck: I’ve got some contacts in the marines. I’ll work my magic.
The two move off to begin their tasks.
Vale: Let me guess, we aren’t actually meant to do this.
Locke: No. I need you to get blue team ready.
Vale: What’ll you be doing?
Locke: Making a plan.
-End of mission 4-

Great story.

Sorry to brake the news to you but this plot doesn’t fit in with the events of halo 5 because the chief and arbiter had met at the end of the game and you also forgot about Halsey and Palmer. But still great story.
