The Search For Bornestellar (fan-fic)

Note: My first fan-fiction within ancient human times, second halo fan-fiction altogether

The story revolves around a forerunner miner, who was the swap-father of Bornestellar Makes Eternal Lasting in “Cryptum.”

Log Entry 1

Preacher of Culture:
"I was very worried, if something were to happen to Bornestellar Makes Eternal Lasting I would surely be punished. My ancilla has told me of various outcomes should we not find him or worse, his corpse. It is clear to me that his father shall not be pleased.

Preacher of Culture:
"After a few days, I realized that Bornestellar must’ve left Edom. Using my armor’s ancilla, we came to the conclusion that my swap-son must be on Erde-Tyrene, a planet almost filled with water. After getting to know Bornestellar throughout the years he was swapped from his family, I know that he has no interest in the work of a miner, which to those of you manipulars who are reading this must realize by now that this was my caste.

Preacher of Culture:
"How can I ramble at a time like this? Anyways, I noted that Bornestellar had a love for treasure, which explains why he is traveling to Erde-Tyrne. He must be in search of the Organon, the greatly rumored precursor artifact of an incredible power. This God-like species vanished long ago, but they had left many objects behind, many of which we haven’t discovered yet.

Preacher of Culture:
"As much as I would like to allow Bornestellar to retrieve this object, this planted is hosted by one of the most vile species known to the forerunners, humans. Even after their devolution, they remain a dangerous species. They even eat meat!

Preacher of Culture:
“The miners in my company and myself will be leaving Edom soon to prevent this from being Bornestellar’s fate, if we aren’t already too late.”

Log Entry 2

Preacher of Culture:
"All of the miner’s under my command and I have arrived on Erde-Tyrene. We did not originally know where to look at first, so we scanned and listened to all human communications until we heard of any word of my swap-son, Bornestellar Makes Eternal Lasting. The Entire process of this took only a few hours, thanks to out ancillas.

Preacher of Culture:
"We first heard word of Bornestellar when a human female was talking to, I assume to be, her husband. She was explaining that her son, Chakas, left to help a forerunner in search of treasure. Unfortunately, she did not explain where they were going or any other leads, other than this Chakas.

Preacher of Culture:
"Shortly after, my ancilla informed me that she discovered that Bornestellar and Chakas were being lead to Djamonkin Crater by a florian named, Riser. Florians are an interesting type of humans, because they appear among the less savage of the humans, especially the one this Chakas is a part of. It comforts me that a florian is in Bornestellar’s presence, but this Chakas has me worried.

Preacher of Culture:
"Anyways, my ship flew down unto Erde-Tyrene towards Djamonkin Crater and we found something that we did not expect. Of course there was no Organon, but instead there was a cryptum. Not just a cryptum, might I add-- For the manipulars among you who don’t already know, a cryptum is where a forerunner goes as an exile. This is an exile of the mind, so to speak. An almost eternal sleep, but mustn’t be awakened unless ordered to by the council.

Preacher of Culture
"We flew passed the Cryptum not only because we might disturb the forerunner within it, but this forerunner must be a warrior-servant, judging from the war sphinxes surrounding it. These machine guardians also suggest that this a high ranking member amongst that caste, a Promethean.

Preacher of Culture:
“Only the surveyor or one of the Orebodies will know how to act from Bornestellar finding this Cryptum…I need their help.”

Log Entry 3

Preacher of Culture:
“I was told by an orebody to go into orbit, above Djamonkin Crater. He brought his vessel above the crater, but soon a Builder vessel came and did the same. I speculate that the only reason why this Builder would be here is if he had command over the Orebody. Who was in charge of that Builder vessel?”

Preacher of Culture:
“Something was occurring on the surface of Erde-Tyrene, and that same something is preventing my vessel’s ancilla from discovering it. I grew worried, to say the least. Based upon my knowledge, there is one big possibility whose Cryptum this belongs to: Shadow-of-a-Sundered-Star”

Footsteps are heard through the speaker, suggesting that Preacher of Culture was pacing; Thinking about what he could say next, but then he suddenly stopped pacing. His armor shifted to face the recording device-much closer than he had been standing to it than before.

Preacher of Culture:
The Didact, is his most common title. If Bornestellar has reawaken this promethan then some major issues shall occur from these two forerunners and two humans.”

Preacher’s ancilla:
“Preacher, your stress levels have increased. I’m cooling your armor’s temperature to relax you.”

Preacher of Culture:
“My punishment shall be awesome, there is no doubt about it. I suspect the kindest thing that shall be done is being lowered in rank and fined. I fear what the worst possibility that can be brought upon me is…I fear what this could do to my family.”

Shaking like from an earthquake is heard, and the vessel’s alarms start going off.

Miner Vessel’s ancilla:
“An unidentified forerunner vessel just passed us. Scanning the images…The vessel appears to be, The Mantle’s approach. Shall I attempt to contact the Orebody’s vessel?”

Preacher of Culture:
“Yes, get me in contact with him quickly!”

Old Mysterious Treasures of the Precursors:
“Preacher of Culture, did your ship receive any images upon the vessel?”

Preacher of Culture:
Yes, I’ll transfer to you now. The vessel appears to be, ‘The Mantle’s approach,’ from what my vessel’s ancilla has informed me.

Old Mysterious Treasures of the Precursors:
“By the mantle!”

Preacher of Culture:
“What shall be done?”

Old Mysterious Treasures of the Precursors:
“The Builder’s vessel and I cannot inform you of that, sense you are only a third-form. However, I want you to search Djamonkin crater for signs as to where they are traveling and send these coordinates to me, and me alone.”

Preacher of Culture:
“I understand, Orebody… Have a safe journey.”

Transmission ends

Miner Vessel’s ancilla:
“Shall I end the log, Preacher?”

Preacher of Culture:
“Yes, there is nothing more to report.”

Preacher’s ancilla:
“Cooling armor…”

End of Log

I like it!

You’ve posted this on the Archive, right?

Yeah, that’s where I originally wrote it. I’m still working on the 4th log though

Log Entry 4

Preacher of Culture:
“Protector of The Innocent searched where the Didact’s ship had previously been located. He reported that he is heading to Charum Hakkor. I was uncertain, so I went down to the surface of Erde-Tyrene to discover what exactly told him this. However, all we found was the Didact’s symbol, and nothing more.”

Preacher of Culture:
“There is no way of knowing where Shadow-of-Sundered-Star had traveled to. Protector is hiding something, I know that for a fact now. My ancilla has called for him, and I shall keep this device recording the audio while he is here.”

Preacher’s ancilla:
“Ten seconds until Protector’s arrival!”

Protector of The Innocent:
“Preacher, why have we not yet left Erde-Tyrene. Why haven’t you sent Old Mysterious Treasures of Precursors the coordinates?”

Preacher of Culture:
“For starters, I’d like you to tell me what you found on the planet’s surface that lead you into thinking of Charum Hakkor.”

Protector of The Innocent:
“You went down to the surface, didn’t you?”

Silence fills the room momentarily.

Protector of The Innocent:
"I really didn’t want to have to do this Preacher, but you’ve left me no choice.

A binary rifle forms in Protector’s hands. Preacher shudders, and looks at the rifle that was aiming directly at him.

Preacher of Culture:
“Tell me this before you murder me, mantle betrayer: Who are you?”

Protector of The Innocent:
“I am Protector of The Innocent! Abandoned and last son of the Didact! I am prefect, I am mantle holder, I am the guilty’s judgement.”

Preacher of Culture:
“A life taker, nothing more.”

The sound of the binary rifle’s mighty shot echoes throughout the room. So loud that Preacher’s cry of pain were almost absorbed by it.

Protector of The Innocent:
“The Life Taker.”

Miner Vessel’s Ancilla:
“Contacting Old Mysterious Treasures of The Precursors”

Old Mysterious Treasures of The Precursors:
"Preacher abou-Protector? What is it? What has happened?

Protector of The Innocent:
“I have been discovered, my friend. The process must be accelerated, and I need to get to Ancient God of Life immediately.”

Old Mysterious Treasures of The Precursors:
“Protector, you only just became a Cosignate! Those thoughts of the person you just had the mutation with are still developing, you can’t undergo another now! It will bring you to madness!”

Protector of The Innocent:
“The three of you knew the damage that this could have on me. I can handle their thoughts for now. What is important is that I become a life worker as soon as possible. If they suspect anyone caused the loss of these forerunner lives, they will think of a miner, if any forerunner.”

Old Mysterious Treasures of The Precursors:
“Very well. I’ve already forwarded the coordinates you sent me earlier to Faber, The Master Builder. I will come to bring you from Erde-Tyrene to the station Ancient is located.”

Protector of The Innocent:
“Before you go, look for me in an escape vessel. I need to make sure no survivors live to tell this tale.”

Transmission Ends

Miner Vessel’s Ancilla:
“Firing escape vessels 1-49. Power failure imminent.”

The vessel falls down unto Djamonkin Crater, shattering into billions of pieces. An archeology lab, and the archeologists have been lost.

Preacher of Culture struggles to get unto his feet, but eventually manages.
