The Sean W Plan
‘Just ask 343I for more Halo Infinite information, concept art, etc. Worse-case scenario, they will say no’
Sean W on YouTube posted a video a few days ago that I 100% agree with. The Halo community is in a massive drought of Halo Infinite news. MCC is being updated but yet that’s old content being revamped. Halo Infinite was to release in less than 2 months. The hype was unreal and eventually let down.
The delay is completely excusable but the lack of content of Halo Infinite is pretty lame. Last month, they released a piece of the soundtrack every Tuesday. I didn’t expect them to release the entire soundtrack but I figured I would get table scraps every Tuesday.
Why do we need more?
Halo Infinites delay was a drag. It was a bummer but with a reasonable answer. Knowing the game was being delayed, the rest of year still had some hope with the new consoles. All of which are sold out and the second wave of pre-orders soon to come will likely be the same. On top of Covid and quarantine, this whole year has been a horrible. I believe everyone needs some revival.
The Solution…?
Give the community more hype. Give content creators something to preview, relate, and review. It could go as little as concept art for boxes, as long as those boxes are in Infinite. It really isn’t completely crazy to think they could show 1 thing every week. There’s 52 weeks in a year. They could show something every week, two weeks, or at least once a month.
I was even thinking they should have community rewards, challenges the Halo Community has to accomplish together to unlock concept arts or trailers. Something to build more hype while still enjoying Halo.
All in all. I’m still very excited for Halo Infinite. Seeing Master Chief on those Monster cans puts a chill down my spine. Fantastic looking armor. I just wish I had something to look forward to every week (playing old games does not count to me).
I totally agree with you, I don’t think that secrecy from 343’s part helps to reinforce the community’s trust… It makes some of us feel worried, others stop caring about the game. A more active comunnication and feedback could keep the “hype train” going.
Dev’s need time, are under a lot pressure so of course there going to be hesitate to share anything yet. Remember the last time Halo Infinite revealed content?..it lead to gamers mocking the graphics and even creating a meme because of it and some might see it as a joke but it can also destroy peoples confidence, with the virus everyone is struggling to work from home. The more they give the more people start demanding more but they need to take their time, relax.
There is no perfect solution to this, the best anyone can do for now is to just get back to playing other games or any of other previous Halo games till then because there is no guarantee that Infinite will release next year either. You have any idea how much time would be wasted trying to find content every week?..a lot, it would take them away from actually trying to fix issues and improve the games so it’s better to let them show something when there ready, not because some fans want everything all the time.

Going by time wasted, they have an entire division focusing on MCC which is old games. They have people posting news articles on Waypoint going over community creations and other articles focusing on lore. Microsoft itself is a huge company. Having 1 person in the entire group at 343 posting a single screenshot once an week or even an month shouldn’t be a concern.

I understand what you are saying. I don’t want them pulled from development over this, but someone at 343i might be able to share a piece of concept art, music, or a screenshot to the community. Maybe a planned weapon skin? Vehicle skin? Make it a monthly thing. Again, I don’t want it to be an issue nor do I think that people should be angry if they say no. They are busy people. But to my understanding, forgive me if I’m wrong, a small taste of what the future halo is gonna bring shouldn’t be too much to do.

And I agree to this statement. The Sean W idea is to ask, that’s it. There’s no harm if they say no to showing content. I just think we all want more transparency.
Gonna be honest guys, I was aware of Sean W’s plan before I read the latest Community Update, and I have to say that their last few lines concerning Infinite and the lack of news, sounded a lot like a response to the movement, without directly referencing it.

I just personally feel the lack of content is insulting. The commercial before the demo reveal was amazing. Then a big ol slap in the face. For a game that was planned for Holiday 2020 for 2 years, I still don’t see an issue getting small details here and there. Let alone they haven’t released anything to the general public about the TV series besides the actors.
