The saviour of Halo 5

We all know Halo has taken a bit of a tumble in popularity recently. Now that MS has taken a U-turn on their DRM policies, perhaps the new XBox and H5 has a chance, who knows.

Having Halo as the only game I ever play for the last 4 or 5 years however, I very much doubt I’ll be on board to get H5, the whole console FPS is getting a little stale for me.

Enter the Oculus Rift, wow that thing looks amazing. I probably won’t bother with the XBox One, but I’m all over the Oculus Rift, this is the massive leap forward in gaming we’ve been waiting for.

So to save H5, XBox One and MS (that might be a slight exaggeration), who’d like to see H5 compatible with the Oculus Rift. I think it would be immense beyond belief. Team the OR up with kinect 2 for full body tracking, and it’s job done.

Honestly if Halo 5 will support Oculus Rift and Kinect 2 I will likely destroy my apartment. But it would be awesome!

The Oculus Rift is cool, but not something I would ever want in Halo. Precision and accuracy are crucial, and the Rift doesn’t deliver in that department.

Plus, how would walking work? Sticking a leg out like we’re forced to now? How about walking backwards? Strafing? Jumping? Crouching? Reloading? Melee? Switching weapons?

All things that you must do, countless times, in quick succession during every match of Halo. The Kinect would never be able to read all of those motions accurately, every time, and with short enough latency to be bearable.
