Not trying to be a downer or anything but…Does anyone else feel like you can predict the outcome of everygame or is it just me?I try and do things a bit different every game so it doesnt get AS boring as it can get but it just seems like alot of people I go up against I can usually tell what they’ll do,when they’ll do it,and why.I dont know…maybe its just me.
Whenever floodgate gets chosen in matchmaking I know beforehand that the game will turn out like -Yoink-. And I’m never wrong either; every single time it gets voted - I don’t know why people vote for it - the gameplay is just awful. Neither team can get the core to the dropship at the end, half the map is spent running around trying to find someone or an objective point, while the other half is completely barren. Suicide to go out in the open with spartans starting out with a sniper rifle. Next time it gets voted for I’m quitting before it starts. A quit ban is actually more enticing than playing on that map. But this isn’t the thread for why I hate floodgate.
But yes I can usually see what people go for or how it’s going to turn out.
I had that problem too. I somehow always knew if I got on a bad team or not. And 88% of the time, I was right. My team quit, AFKed, acted like idiots (taking all the power weapons and vehicles with you over an edge for example), or was just plainly overwhelmed.
Only really when one of my team dashboards on the vote screen. JIP fixes that.
Complacent Gaming Syndrome. Everybody does what works and what’s comfortable with them. It’s why everybody always votes for DMR starts, so that they can immediately start doing the same thing everytime. When you play against players who aren’t aware that headshot capable weapons are OP or that they don’t care that they are and refuse to use them then the game becomes fresh, exciting, and not the same. Whenever people rely too much on the DMR, the game is always the same. When players want some variety, it’s much more fun, map movement is faster and regularly changes, players use different weapons and overall it’s much more fun.
Try playing the same gametype after removing the DMR, NR and Magnum or turn off headshots. You’ll see how stale those weapons has made Halo over the last 10 years.
If you feel repeated gameplay and it’s boring, then why keep playing? Just saying…

Because Halo has what many console games don’t and what even many PC games don’t have. A vast amount of options that can create limitless possibilities to keep the game fresh for many years.
When I play matchmaking in anything other then MLG, it’s a forgone conclusion that I’m going to win.
I was growing complacent by just using the DMR in firefight. I hate the Fuel Rod Cannon, any chimp can use that one. Instead I started using the Pro-pipe, which is really fun. I’m now jut pretending to be a body guard for who ever the game selects as the main target for the Ai. That’s been making Arcade bearable.

Usually yes, provided my team pull their own weight (which they nearly always do), I can tell before the game begins which side will win. However, if it’s another full team in BTB of random ranks and K/Ds then I’m never too sure.

You mean a hopeless cluster -Yoink- of spray & pray? If I wanted to play like some bronze kid I’d turn off my TV, hold down right trigger, and constantly run forward while throwing the occasional melee - that’s the type of gameplay produced in most AR start games I encounter.
Not even sure why you play halo in the first place if you think that headshot weapons have made the game stale. I know i complain about reach all the time, but your complaint isnt specific to one game. This isn’t some perceived problem like armor abilities or lack of proper trueskill; what you are talking about here is something that has been at the core of every Halo game. So seriously, why do you play Halo?
