Today i forced myself to try to give Halo 4 another chance BUT when i got on i noticed that there are more players playing Flood than Team Throwdown and CTF combined… SAD SAD day.
343, Do you realize what you’ve done to the Halo Franchise?
Put the 1-50 into the game, soon. Your population is 80% lower than any other halo in history and the only population that is still on is playing bad playlists. You have lost ALL of the competitive players because you have created an entirely SOCIAL Halo.
Ive been playing Halo 4 since November 6th, 2012 (when it was released) and here we are 7 MONTHS later and there is still no “in game” ranking system and no progress in changing the OP dmr from a power weapon to a loadout weapon.
Rest In Peace Halo 2, best of luck 343! I hope for the Halo franchise that you fellas start listening to your community or you will soon have NO community,
Sean
Also i will probably be banned before i even get my point across lol i have just been pushed to the point of no return with what was once my favorite competitive franchise. When all of us go to work each day you expect to be progressing your product or what ever it is your trying to sell, 343 goes to work and bans everyone on the forums who is trying to help them save what was once Xbox’s #1 game.
It was confirmed before launch multiple times that 1-50 ranks will not be visible in-game, ever.
We have CSR, it is visible on Waypoint, that’s all you are going to get.
Nothing you do to Halo 4 is going to bring the population back to its original 400k+ in its first few days.
As for no changes to the DMR, the DMR is getting a red reticule range reduction on June 3rd, as well as the Battle Rifle being buffed to a 4SK, Carbine becoming a 7SK, Beam Rifle aim assist nerf, LightRifle RoF increased when zoomed in and some vehicle tweaks.
I’m not defending 343, I don’t exactly agree with some a lot of decisions they’ve made for the game, but they are trying in some aspects, balance being one of them.

It was also stated multiple times that this was a sequel to Halo 3 and that it was going back to it’s roots with this game, only to be a gameplay sequel to Reach with damn near nothing resembling The original trilogy.
I know where you’re coming from, I just can’t believe anything is taken off the table if such things were said and not followed through.

Ranks must be visible for me, A Halo player since 2001, to have fun playing Halo 4. Anyone who disagrees about the ranks and the dmr are “2013” kids and have no respect for what halo was back in its halo 2 days because they didnt play halo then. #GOBACKTOREACH

Like I said, they are trying to improve on some aspects, a ton others need a lot of work.
Your playlist preferance is not equivilant to the playlist preferance of all players. While things on Halo 4 are not perfect Halo has been around for more than 10 years, of course people are going to start to move on to other games.

I really don’t care about rank at all and I started with bungie on Marathon.

What difference does it make how old a game is? With that logic nobody should be playing COD anymore.

This is a pathetic and uninspired shot at a large portion of the Halo community, and not the way to go about expressing your need for ranks. I’d suggest you change your tone before you get banned.
Although I agree ranks need to be in a Halo game, I do not agree with this. You’re one of the people I’m embarrassed to agree with on anything. Because you state your opinion in such an insulting way.
You want to talk about the community being split? You wanna talk about how the community is suffering because of what 343i has done to the game? I would look back at your own actions before judging those of others.

I don’t think attacking other players and telling them to leave is a good way to get your point across. What exactly is a 2013 kid? Do you not have respect for Halo because you only referance as far back as Halo 2? What about Halo CE? What about marathon?
My point is that everyone has different tastes and views and because you dislike what other people like, doesn’t mean you get to hate them and what they like. That isn’t right.

People get bord of things they have been doing for a long time. This is why Lebron James used to quit playing basketball in the playoffs.
Your not making sense here, CoD has been out longer than Halo, yet the population there is doing just fine. Why? Because they have not changed the CORE aspects of the franchise, Halo did. Period. End of Story. Until 343 dumps the dmr and brings back in-game 1-50, the population will continue to disappear. There were 100,000 people searching Team Slayer any given day a year after the game was released, here we are 7 months after the release of Halo 4, still no ranks, still dmr, still no population.

And yet COD is still dominating the market. This is because they found a working formula, and stuck with it. Granted they’ve put out carbon copies to an extent and could use some changes, but they don’t crap all over core mechanics like Reach and H4 did which is the real reason both games have such a poor population in comparison to prior titles.
Also, LBJ doesn’t seem to have a problem with that right now, chances are they will be winning it all again this year. (I’m a Knicks fan)

This is EXACTLY what im talking about. Multichem did you ever play Halo 1, 2, or 3? Just a question. I bet i know the answer.
As if one weapon and a rank system changed things that much.
The adolescence is almost insulting.

Really, so the fact that Halo was released in 2001 and COD was released in 2003 makes COD older?

You’re not going to get in game ranks and no DMR in Halo 4.
The Halo franchise is just tired.
It is that simple, you can say that COD retains a high population because it has kept its core gameplay the same.
This is not true. It has only remained the same since COD 4 and Black Op’s.
Now it is failing to innovate it is loosing fans (go check any website that allows users to submit reviews).
Halo is an old franchise now. It is not relevant original or exciting.

you asked me what a 2013 kid is?
websters dictionary says,
2013 kid - A player who did not participate in or was not a part of any Halo previous to 2013. Typically bad at the game and has no previous knowledge about how good halo used to be therefore cannot understand the magnitude of the problem we have on our hands.
