Before we continue to the main point of this thread, I’d like to note that the Didact’s armor is really damn epic.
Now if you haven’t finished the campaign, I suggest you stop reading now.
We all know that the Didact is obviously not dead. He fell through a slipspace portal leading to… Well that’s the point of this thread. Where do you think this ruthless Promethean is? What do you think he’s up to?
I know this game’s ages away, but I can’t wait until Halo 5 comes out. I want to see what happens. Will the Didact eventually be forced to side with humanity to face a greater threat? Or will he remain as the main antagonist for the rest of this trilogy?
As to where he went, I do not know; but I think he’s going to come back.
He’s going to change his ways. I’m not sure whether that will be in Halo 5 or 6 though.
I can’t see him remaining an enemy for too much longer though, so perhaps it will be by the end of Halo 5. If he’s supposed to be Chief’s nemesis, he can’t change his ways too soon.
He is dead there are some people trying to say stupid things like he is not affected by composing or he teleported but it is all a lie but do you remember when he said the reclamation era began h reffers to Chief and all the humanity to reclaim their birthrigths like their genetic code again which Librarian gave to Chief on that little conversation and Humans are stronger than everything even Forerunners but the Forerunners afraid of the Humans agressive behavior and as they didn’t know what led to this behavior they de-evolved the humans so that the humans could be controled so the Humans will reclaim all of these things so that humans can be the next Forerunners
do you honestly believe MS isn’t constantly bum rushing 343i to make H5 a xbox 720 launch title?
you’ll definitely see footage of halo 5 at this year’s e3, mark my words.
(either H5 or H2 anniversary, but I think MS already said there wouldn’t be one, so I’m going with 5!)

Giving a new company only around a year to create a launch title for a game on a new console…I hope MS isn’t that stupid. They have said that they don’t want to make Halo a yearly franchise, so why would they completely go against that?
IF we see anything on Halo 5 at E3, it will be a teaser trailer. That’s it. Much like the one we saw for Halo 3 where chief is walking out to the Covie dig site.
People are saying that Halo 4 was rushed, and it had around 2 years. Halo 5 would be a garbled mess of a game if they only took 1 year to make it. Even CoD is split between developers so they have 2 years to make it…
A little off topic here but but I don’t think the promethean knights, crawlers etc should be called prometheans because they are not. They are were just made by prometheans, prometheans are the didact, confirmer etc prometheans are actual forerunners. The 343 devs shouldn’t just call them prometheans or refer them as the prometheans when they are talking about them in vidocs and stuff because they aren’t. I know it probably doesn’t matter but I would like it to be clear a lot more that a promethean is a forerunner warrior rank/title and not a forerunner robot with the soul of human in it.
Also another thing was it slipspace the didact fell in to because I can’t remember it being mentioned in the game I thought was just the stuff that coming out of the laser from his ship.
He isn’t ruthless. He just hates humans. He used to be a noble dude who thought mass suicide was wrong. what greater threat? Halo better not turn into Mass Effect where every game had a completely different enemy. like “woa ok there’s a new enemy that we had no idea or clue about”

I’ll bet you everything that halo 5 won’t launch with the 720.
Even still, I think he is the worst bad guy in the entire series. The prophets had better writing, and although their story was complex, it’s still easier to sympathise with than the didact. He just seems evil, instead of not being seen evil as far as he is concerned.

He’s not a convincing antagonist, so I hope he isn’t the antagonist in 5.
The Gravemind is the best antagonist, IMHO.
EDIT: The Gravemind is one of my favorite characters btw …

Cortana referred to it as a “significant slipspace event”, this was while you’re being lifted across gravity towards the Composer. The slipspace was powering up the energy for the Composer.
Also, the beam comes from the Composer, not Didact’s ship, “The Mantle’s Approach”, which is just housing the Composer.
The slip-space portal most likely goes to requiem. It is there to bring the composed humans/forerunners to requiem. The artifact in Spartan ops probably is the receiver from that slip-space portal .

Ok, I’m putting up a spoiler tag just in case no one finished the campaign.
So composing innocent civillians on the installation wasn’t ruthless? Creating a bunch of Prometheans to disintegrate humans isn’t ruthless? He is ruthless, regardless. As for the greater threat? Flood once again, Precursor (highly unlikely) or Faber.

Microsoft gave four years for said new studio to form and make a triple A game. They are exactly that stupid. Though I think you’re right that there wont be a new game this year, next year is a different story. This year maybe another season or two of SpOps.
> Well considering he fell through the composers sub space portal he might be at the facility where the composed get turned into an AI
They get composed through the composer itself. That slipspace portal was the composer’s output. The question is, where does that output slipspace portal lead? I thought it was Requiem at first, but now I’m not so sure…
