The root of all our problems is this game being free

I can definitely agree with that but another thing to add to it in my opinion, Halo has evolved a lot since 2007 and the universe is a lot bigger so it could also diverge from what we currently have. My ideas are more contreversial in the Halo community as there are a lot of people here for multiplayer but for the longevity of Halo, I think seperating the multiplayer from the campaign would be a better idea, having the campaign becoming a main focus for its own team in comparison to the MP which would have its own. That is my compromise idea because ideally in my opinion, Halo eliminating PVP Multiplayer would do well for the fact that Multiplayer games, especially PVP Multiplayer games, have a shelflife before trends or developers themselves get tired of its content and leave it in the dust. I mean look at the majority of shooters who are older than 5 years old, either they have a dedicated player base such as in the case of Titanfall, or they are left in ruins such as the case of Team Fortress 2. That last part is just my observstions though

if it wasnt free i wouldnt have been playing it rn so no

You clearly didn’t play Halo 5, but nice try.

You should put that “free” in quotes. In the long run this will cost player’s WAY more than a one-one time purchase price for what amounts to a stripped down, piecemeal game that they will feed back to you at the rate of a dollar per pixel.

Exactly. Frequent cheaters and predatory MT store is what killed the game for me. It may not have perfect multiplayer but it didn’t get much of a chance when F2P was forced on this game and to make it worse they rushed out a game that was not ready and it was bad enough that 343i lied about the progression system and they’re not even apologising about what they claimed. I don’t even know what to think about the future of the Halo IP when 343i have basically nuked their future by focusing on a 10 year plan game that doesn’t respect the fanbase or the IP. Heck it’s even got so bad that the Steam population is now dropping under 3k and that’s coming from 272k at launch.

Disabling cross-play is not going to be enough. F2P model needs to be dropped and this stupid live service model needs to be dropped too or the cheating will continue to be common and that is depressing. Population on PC is struggling as it is. If cross-play is turned off then what remains will essentially kill the game entirely on PC…even though I personally would prefer a toggle for this but the damage is done since 343i forced the irritating live service nonsense and continues to ignore the complaints sadly.

I did tho. I could literally show you my forge maps.

the root of the problems is, that the game is designed around generating as much money as possible and not around being fun or a good game. the game being free to play is just a side effect of that.
we could also go much further, that the root is, that people buy into MTs so much, that it more than just overcompensates the sales revenue of any game.

Way making issue if they low price paint any color would be a lot better and people would complain less.

When I mean low below 5 dollars to paint the whole spartin as you could in halo 5.

If they did that then I wouldn’t mind mc as much. And might do it.

There is no reason Skimp game modes at best they can put custom game mode as paywall 10 dollar max it would suck but if I can have fully loaded custom game unlocks every option. I would hate pay but behind mc I would.

But what they offer is low and very frustrating

I agree very much. Speak truth my friend

They should make snowbound again lol on h3 I use to make tunnels in the snow (where the guns shot) with weapon holders and put batteries outside the tunnel. Then when you were running through it would explode behind you. Tunnel would respawn every 10 seconds for the new players. And I would run infection on it. If you got to the end it teleported you under one of the vases you could glitch a teleporter in.

How do you know it’s Microsofts fault?

I think the general sentiment has been that 343i is basically just a puppet for Microsoft. Not a proper gaming studio

That’s how any publisher-owned studio works. 343i is a proper studio but they do not have the agency they want.

That’s what i thought to.

I expect around 10-12 multiplayer maps for a 4v4 setting. The fact that a map go removed because of another entity outside of 343i is what alarms me. That has been far been the biggest adjustment to the multiplayer scene.

And yet it Lived FAR FAR Longer then Infinite. Thats speaks VOLUMES about how much of a failure this game is. from top to bottom.

at this point in time in Halo 5’s life span we had 4 content updates with a 5th Content Drop on the way, and a healthy player popuatlion to keep the game stable. and active communication, along with DOUBLE the content that Infinite has NOW,

meanwhile infintie hasnt even recieved its first content drop and the games severely lacking and playing catch up with even halo 5, and we are now down to 90% of the playerbase?

Halo 5 was universally hated you say but yet people actually wanted to continue playing it. seems infinite is universally loved but no one WANTS to play it. interesting how that works isnt it?

I wouldn’t say all problems. But it’s definitely a major factor.

your formule is not right.

its more this formule: Free To Play + PC + crossplay = cheating problems.

and this is the right formule: Pay To Play + Console = good game.
