My friend and I were discussing the new trailers, and how they portray Locke and Chief. I feel as though Chief, in the Master Chief ad, is talking to himself before he acknowledges Locke. He is is looking not at Locke but at the broken and damaged statue of the MC–The Hero, The Legend–and asking it if it was all worth it. It seems clear that the Master Chief must have done something bad. Locke is explicitly distrustful of ONI and therefore wouldn’t be so sure of what they’re saying without good reason, so if he thinks Chief is a traitor, he must have done something that would make Locke believe it. But I highly doubt it was actually evil, and probably is serving a greater purpose we don’t know about yet.
It’s my opinion that both Locke and Chief will be the villains of each others’ stories, and the Arbiter will be the mediator between the two, the one to decide what the truth is. That is, after all, in his title:
Arbiter : a person who is considered to be an authority on what is right, good, or proper
: a person who has the power to settle an argument between people
I feel like everyone’s favorite Elite will be the only true hero in this story. What are your thoughts?

If that was the case those interviewees in HunttheTruth would be dead, and why work with Arbiter in those H2A cutscenes, that doesent make too much sense.
I hope the arbiter doesn’t go away like a scrub. He lived through more than his fair share of the war, so to be killed by Locke (while shocking and emotional) would definitely set up a much darker mood.

I doubt Locke would kill him; he has no reason too, and killing him would only make things worse between humanity and the Elites.
