A new GI video has been released and here Frank O’Connor talks on Cortana’s background story in the deep fiction and throughout the games of the franchise. As well as getting some insight as to how her role will make an impact to both the Chief/John and the story. Honestly, I’m getting so excited right now to play the campaign. It sounds as if it would leave us in at the edge of our seats as the game continues.

I’m glad 343 are sticking within the Halo canon, but I really don’t want Cortana to die. She is as important to Halo as the Chief is and the games wouldn’t be the same without her.
Anyone notice how Frankie pronounces her name at the beginning? “Cartona”. I wonder if Cortana is going to have an alter-ego in H4, and this was a slip-up on Frankie’s part. Or, it could just be how he says “Cortana”.

I’m with you there. The possibility of seeing her demise in the game is just to hard to swallow. It makes me think how the rest of the “Reclaimer Trilogy” will unfold with Cortana not around.

I’m just wondering - Why are most videos about Halo 4 outside of Halo Waypoint? I thought this was supposed to be the hub for Halo. Also, Frankie rarely posts on these forums which I find very strange.

343 probably doesn’t post here because they would be grilled by idiots making idiotic comments off of 15 seconds of the game.

I watched it, and he just kinda talks about Cortana, nothing huge.

I don’t think it means anything, he said “Cartona/Cortana is coming back” or something to that effect. It had been used in any other context I would say maybe, but I wouldn’t place any bets. Although it is a very interesting and plausible idea.
Also, did anyone notice how he said “…or something we haven’t seen yet”? Obviously there is the popular theory Cortana’s access to Forerunner tech could save her from rampancy, but this sounds like it could be rampancy unlike any ever documented before.

Not really. It only talks about Cortana’s evolution and story throughout the Halo canon currently. Frankie also talks a bit of Cortana’s role in the game but it doesn’t spoil the story.

Game Informer gets exclusive access to certain interviews, screen-shots, and information. This has to do with marketing. Don’t worry. Once the game is closer to release we will probably see more info being posted on here.
Also, don’t forget that a lot of info is placed on the home page after a day or two.

Well my train of thought was that maybe he’s become used to saying Cartona around the studios while discussing the game with other 343 members, and it accidentally slipped out during the GI interview.
Ooooh, so exciting! I can’t wait for Halo 4!
I always knew that girl doing to motion capture would be Cortana.

I believe in Halo 4 they will find a way on Requiem to save Cortana.
In the GI article- I don’t remember exactly, but they hinted that there could be a possibly way, with all of the Forerunner intelligence Cortana has taken in, for her to be saved from rampancy. I think that’ll play a big part in Halo 4- trying to save Cortana.

Maybe they meet the Composer, and have him reverse AI-ify Cortana, and make her human!
