Over the past few months, we’ve been gathering your feedback on Arena map weapon layouts here on Waypoint, and we’ve made a variety of refresh updates to a select set of Arena map / game type combinations in Team Arena.
For The Rig, the following changes have been made:
Boltshot removed from Yellow Corner - DMR replaces Battle Rifle in Cargo - Battle Rifle replaces Carbine at Lookout - Shotgun replaces Scattershot in Basement - Swapped out Frag Grenades at Pit with Splinter Grenades - Swapped out Splinter Grenades in Bottom Nest with Frag Grenades - Added a Song of Peace Suppressor to Back Rail - (Strongholds only) Sniper Rifle replaces Railgun in Tower TwoThank you! We look forward to hearing your feedback.
This s always a hard subject when it comes to Halo. I am real halo fan. I have a xbox 360 & x1 pretty much for Halo. I jump from halo to halo having fun on all of them. Halo is about the campaign. Multi player is something attached to a story. There could have been countless reasons why multi player came about. So with that judging each map could depend on many factors. So in short the Maps are over done for skill. H5 and all there maps are the same. So I stay off of ALL of them. Halo just pays to much attention to competing. I see so much FAILURE on H5 because of he maps. Give an example would be Reach or H4. The maps, weapons, vehicles, and armor mods increase the likelihood of a even competing. Similar with Reach. Skill is not fun. I sometimes look at the random messages left on twitter about H5 and the maps. So much grief over a game. Its always bring back something, but that tells the creators there not doing there job n the next game. I’ll end here. As I’ve said before on these surveys you need focus groups and not a random way to get queck information out of gamers. If Microsoft wants real time information focus groups. I doesn’t matter if you get thousands saying a game is great. But get people in a room together that’s when you get the truth.
Shotgun with camo is honestly worse than scatter with camo because it has more consistent damage.
Scatter on this map was great for the bouncing gameplay it provided. Just reduce it’s mag size. Although scatter is inconsistent in damage at a distance.
Sniper for strongholds should have a clip of 4 with another 4 for its last mag.
I think the carbine was fine it’s good at stopping pushes with its damage. the only advantage br has is its magnetism.
the suppressors place i’m unsure of .
You should have a game mode for arena like Spartan ops and Halo 3 odst…4 is the Max fireteam limit you and 3 of your friends fight all the way to the boss make it arena firefight… It would add more to the firefight and players would enjoy more selection to the firefight modes.

The Rig’s biggest issue in my opinion is that there is no movement. A lot of teams just sit in the back. My other issue is there is too many power weapons (just personal preference). I also like less autos. So any thing you can do to make the map less pick up heavy and more movement welcoming, I will almost certainly like.
The change that I really like is; switching the BR for DMR. (In general I think the DMR is more balanced).
I like most of the changes on this map. I think The Rig should have a human weapon theme, and the DMR and Shotgun appeal to that. But I really don’t like the suppressor, no matter what version it is. It and the Boltshot are just so cheap. You don’t have to worry about accuracy much with them, and they make strafing pretty much pointless. I’d rather it was replaced with an SMG or just removed without any replacement.

Yeah, that’s true. Shotgun and Camo would be more lethal than Scattershot and Camo. Scattershot has that big orange light that can be easily seen if Camo becomes slightly visible. The white light on the Shotgun isn’t as obvious. Plus, yeah, bouncing the shots off the many tight corners is really great for this map.
This is a tough one. I thought Rig strongholds was probably one of the best gametypes last season, but I’m not necessarily opposed to refinements. The shotgun subbing for scattershot is a good change, as the scattershot really had a LOT of ammo. That said, the rig’s abundant hiding places and corners made the scattershot pretty fun, due to the bank shots. The railgun for sniper switch is interesting as well. I think 3 minutes is a long time to wait for a power weapon on this map, and rotating with the sniper is awkward, whereas it feels natural with the railgun. While we generally tend to think of the railgun as the most reliable, easy kill weapon it’s actually much harder to use for multikills than the sniper, due to the long reload. My last thought is just that I kind of miss the carbine. As nice as it is to have BR access on the outside, the spammy carbine was pretty good for backing people down at nest. It’s still a good gametype and it definitely isn’t ruined, but I’m not sure it is really any better.
The Sniper replacing the Railgun on Strongholds is a great change. The Railgun would completely dominate and take over a game, it was not fun to play or spectate. It’ll be very interesting to see how skilled players use the Sniper in a gametype that forces movement and rotation.
I preferred the Scattershot over the Shotgun. The map was perfect for bank shots and I never found it overpowered. The Scattershot is very inconsistent online, I actually prefer to have a shotgun in my hands online.
I like the sniper swapped for railgun. Railgun was so OP when a team 2 caps and has the enemy team pushed into bunker. I also like the reg shotgun over the scatter. The scatter had way too much ammo. I would like to see the SMGs removed completely. I think The Rig was improved overall with these settings.
Shotty swap is good in my book. However I highly doubt people will go out of their way for a Song of Peace. It’s just not all that popular of a weapon from what I’ve noticed since H4. I may be wrong. I would have much preferred an SMG instead. Rig can get to be close quarters as hell at times and an SMG is perfect for that. Oh well we’ll see what happens!
I love the fall preview the game modes are fun and fair. the maps are awesome. keep up the good work can’t wait to see what’s else you guys got in store for us

Second Hand Brotherhood.
I like this new rig everything flows nicely I’m still on the fence weather it should be shorty or scattershot but besides this everything is good. The song of peace is a nice touch think about adding more reqs to the arena since it improves the overall quality.
