As many of you have heard by now, 343 has listened to the majority of the Arena community and removed the jetpack.
Since we have already got their attention to make simple changes to the current Arena playlist, we should request for the revival of Doubles Arena.
Doubles Arena (in my opinion) would be the best update to happen in Halo Reach, post the TU. The current Doubles playlist in Reach lacks competiveness and does not hold the same value as it did in the past when it was ranked. The gameplay gets boring and going in alone really gets annoying when you get matched up with a player who has just started to play the game.
If you support the revival of Doubles Arena, please post here to get the attention of the MM Team. Hopefully we can get our voices heard and eventually get Doubles Arena back for next month!
I pretty sure the majority of arena players want the terribly one sided maps removed more than anything.
I loved Arena Doubles a lot, but I don’t think the amount of players currently in Arena could support another playlist. I’d say to start thinking about adding Arena Doubles only if the Arena population drastically increases as a result of removing jet pack.

Also this. Now that jet pack is gone the next most important step is removing the maps that give one side an overwhelming advantage.

As an Arena player myself, I am currently fine with all the maps now that jetpack has been removed, except for Uncaged.
Reflection and Sword Base are two other maps that many hate because of the unfair advantage caused by the initial spawn, but if you are running with a good team there should be no problem in playing those maps.
I bet that many Arena players’ opinions will change regarding some maps once they see how the gameplay is effected with the removal of the JP

I don’t believe the revival of Doubles Arena will impact the population of the Arena since they are two different playlists, obviously. When Bungie removed Doubles Arena, the population of the Arena increased slightly, then quickly declined as the lack of updates and support were brought to the playlist.
Double team though, remained consistent with its population and still holds a better population than the Arena itself.
I would think of it as being just a change from playing a 4v4 ranked playlist all the time. I know for a fact that I will be switching between playlists on a daily basis and will definatly want to place in the top division and percentage on both of them.

No good team will EVER lose on Sword Base with Red Spawn now (GL, Shotty, Sniper, top control vs sword). Reflection, that’s probably a 4-6 kill advantage off the start, with is bad, but possible to overcome.
I do want to see Doubles Arena back. I don’t think it will affect the population of Team Arena much, as people will want to get rated in both. A lot of people also played Doubles Arena exclusively, or at least much more than Team Arena back when the option existed.

No jetpack on Uncaged = stalemates every single game
No jetpack on Sword Base = blue team’s only option is to flood the gold lift or make do with being trapped on the bottom of the map
