With Halo Infinite’s tonal shift, harkening back to the Halo games of old, with its art-style using the design principles of Bungies work, the music sounding like it was composed by Marty O’Donnel himself, and the return of classic sound effects, Halo is feeling more like Halo than it has done in a long time.
Not only that, but we’ll be experiencing a plot reminiscent of Combat Evolved, exploring a new ring world. Things couldn’t be more exiting for those who’ve missed the original trilogy but have been wanting something fresh.
Now I’m sure we’ll get returning characters like the Arbiter, newer faces such as Lasky, but there are some characters that have been rather overlooked throughout Halo’s tenure, a select few familiar voices that’ll make exploring this new Halo every bit more that call back to Combat Evolved.
I am of course talking about the Marines. Specifically the likes of Chips Dubbo, Pete Staker, and any other familiar marine voices fron the original games.
We did have one cameo from Staker in Halo 4 (and a named one at that, had his voice on the intercom and everything!) but apart from that, nothing.
These are the marines that fought alongside the Chief throughout the original trilogy, and with the introduction if the new pelican pilot “Brohammer” as some are calling him, wouldn’t it be great to flesh out some of the other minor characters, and why not continue the trend of evoking the original trilogy with the return of these iconic voices, and like with “Brohammer” flesh them out as part of the main cast?
Hell, Staker could be the new Johnson!
