I also think that the ODSTS of halo 2 or of halo wars 2 should return in the halo infinite.
They are the best.

I made a forum about this some time ago. I’d like to see some ODSTs return too honestly. They had a unique charm everytime they appeared.
As much as I’d love to see a return of ODST’s, they have transcended thier “cool looking marines” trope. I would rather see them in thier own game, much like Halo 3: ODST.
I think it be cool to see a more slower paced, tactical shooter, much like Rainbow 6 Seige. You assume command of a small squad of ODSTs during the Innsurectionist War, and are tasked with eliminating/capturing high-level “Innie” leaders. Using suppressed weapons, prototype gear, and the ever so badass ODST armor, you can tackle each mission a multitude of different approaches, using specialized squad members each withbthiernown unique specialties and abilities. Command your squad with precision to quell the Innsurection, and be an ultimate badass.
Think R6 meets Republic Commando. Anyways, just an idea.
And for multiplayer, have firefight return but instead of just defending against waves of increasingly difficult enemies, its be cool to see you and your squad progress through a large mission map to various against harder, more challenging enemies and vehicles.
I am still hoping that the ODST Troopers are coming back in the upcoming Halo Infinite. It’s been a very long time since they appeared in Halo 2, Halo 3 and Halo 3: ODST.

Don’t forget reach. They were also in halo wars 2 so we know the Spirit of Fire has them. There is hope.

H3 ODST was one of my favorite Halos, and I was really sad to see them pretty much disappear after that. They were lightly sprinkled around in Reach, with non in 4 and 5 except for Buck (and they didn’t even give him super well written lines which was sad to see). Seeing them come back in HW2 made me very happy. I think if we get to fight with them again, and here their hilarious voice lines, it will be development time well spent.
The ODSTs must absolutely come back in the next halo game.
They must reappear at one time or another.
Hold up I just noticed something I don’t think ODST’s were in Halo 4 and 5 yeah we need more ODST’s and maybe even another game
.
Indeed, the ODSTS are not present in halo 4 and 5, which is a shame.
They are only present in halo 2,3, odst and reach.
They haven’t appeared for a long time and it would be nice to see them again in halo infinite.
I want to see them return like 3 or reach not the halo 5 helmet ones
Halo ODST 2 is long overdue
But yeah we do need to see some ODST in halo infinite, just for fan service
Let’s face it, does the OSDT actually have a cavity these days? practically the Spartans IV have replaced the functions of special stormtroopers.

Yes they’re the in between from Spartans and marines it’s easier to train ODSTs than Spartans and the unsc will need easy capable troops in its fight with the banished and cortanas forces
I’m hoping the target designator can be used to paint drop zones to call in odst from an over head carrier during campaign that would be really cool. Like in wars 2.
We know that ordinance drops in halo 4 are based on the odst drop pod ai and the ordinance drops do seem to return in the slipspace engine.
I wouldn’t rule out odsts in infinite and even a dlc down the line.

Good point
I would love some ODST missions as DLC.
The main reason I see it as unlikely, is because the ODSTs essentially got absorbed into the Spartan IV program. Not all of them chose to enter the program, but a majority did.

Buck was no longer an odst in h5 he was a full blown spartan by this time
