I really hope to see a completely visually redesigned flood. Like how the Gravemind got reskinned, do that to all the flood.
If we don’t see the Flood in Halo 5, we will for sure see them in Halo 6. They are the ultimate and never-ending enemy.

The Flood infect and absorb the Didact and make him into the most powerful Gravemind, which Chief (possible assisted by Locke and/or Arby) has to battle in a boss fight. Would be an epic ending for Halo 6, but that is of course presumptuous with little knowledge of where Halo 5’s story is going. Just thought the idea sounded pretty epic.

The release of the Flood in the original trilogy was a bit of a mistake. They happened to be on a ring that a bunch of people crash landed on, and managed to get off and cause trouble. If the Halo novels are cannon, then we know that the Flood are the means of testing to prove races worthy of assuming the Mantle of Responsibility.
The Flood are returning, and they will come with a purpose. They will come to test humanity.

That’s an interesting take on the purpose of the Flood, one I’ve never heard before. Does this come from on of the Forerunner Saga books? I’ve only read the first one so far.

343 did a brilliant, terrifying job of reskinning the Gravemind and I really think that they can get the look that they unfortunately, didn’t quite achieve in Halo 4’s Infection. But I thought the Anniversary Gravemind was awesome.
