So once again no proof for your claims? I’m shocked. /s

For everybody else, here is video evidence for how far you can sprint at an angle, directly shown on the Controller: https://youtu.be/yJewk5iL3YM.
I want everybody to take note where the 45°-position is: In the middle of the indentation next to the Xbox Button.
And this is the exact moment where the game kicks you out of sprint: Before the middle of the indentation.
And guess what you get when you measure the angle? Correct. It’s once again 40 degrees.
q.e.d.

i thought you were gonna show me actual data. that was the worse way to convey any information. i dont know whether to laugh or feel bad for you. i really need to stop arguing on halo waypoint.

you realise my video has irrefutable data? I highlight the walls and it shows the exact angles in numbers and my spartan is able to go wayy past 45 degrees when he runs to the right…

I already have. Multiple times. But since you are either not capable or not willing to understand it, I’m not going to waste my time anymore.

No, you really need to start arguing on Waypoint. What you did so far was anything but. Arguments require factual accuracy and logical consistency.

> 2533274821339472;5084:
> you realise my video has irrefutable data?

Except that my video literally refutes it. It proves you cannot sprint past 45 degrees without the game kicking you out of sprint and it also shows the maximum sprinting angle: 40 degrees.

i’ll let you and other people be the judge. i’m done. if you cant accept the angle numbers on the video, why would i ever argue anything else with you. your observation skills need improving. im a person who can admit when he’s wrong, you cant. tsassi knows what i’m talking about.
no wonder tsassi quit, these arguments are dumb as hell.

Apparently not. I lost count how often you’ve been wrong on the last ten pages of this thread alone, and you haven’t admitted to a single one of them, so…

The level of stupidity in this thread was dictated by you alone. It was within your grasp to change that. You chose not to.
Some people don’t want to waste their time on such a discussion. I can accept that, but I’m not one of them. I’d rather bash my head against a wall than let people spread lies and misinformation.

tsassi wont say anthing on the matter because he knows my video is clear as day and you recording your thumb is a joke. i cant believe you went with that route. it takes practice to hit max angle and just because you fail, doesnt mean it doesnt exist. tsassi should do you a favor and humble your ego.

> 2533274821339472;5088:

Of course you can’t. Because you didn’t expect me (or other people) to disprove your claims. Like, none of them. I guess you never experienced somebody calling you out on your BS before, so you didn’t foresee it could happen here.

No, the fact that it doesn’t exist means it doesn’t exist.

ask tsassi to agree with your video over mine.

he wont, but i would love him to agree with you. it would be the highlight of my day.

bye.

In what way did this age like milk? Do you care to elaborate?

I believe he is referring as to the fact that halo infinite does not have classic movement, though from what i can tell it is far closer to it than halo 4 and halo 5.

I was curious as to what’s going on, so I quickly tested this. Here is the video, my working out is in the description. It seems like I was able to sprint at an angle of 51 degrees from the forward direction. Unless I did two very dumb mistakes (mixing the x- and y-distances, and not placing the block at a 45 degree angle), I was definitely running at more than 45 degrees.

Having played Halo since Day One, and recently getting back due to Covid influencing the work place, I hope 343 keep the Halo 5 type of play.

Going back to “classic” would mean the game will slow doen, and games have evolved from the Halo3 era. Just look at Starcraft/Fortnite and Call Of Duty.

I hope the following mechanics are available:
1.Slide
2.Spring jumping, and making it easier to hit, ie. the necessary time between the crouch and jump should be increases to make it more consistent. Now the fest is not a Skill, but a super duper sweaty glotch only 1/10 of Åros mange to hit. Making it unbalanced
3.Sprint (already confirmed)
4.Stabilize: this makes pre-aiming harder and makes games have more variety in respect to wheree the opponents hitboxes habits are placed around a map. Also makes players have another thought process and increases the decision making process.

Conclusion:
I think going back in time on the mechanics will make it a dull game that players will replace, or switch. Already pros have switchef to Call of Duty(Shottzy) , Fortnite (ninja) etc. If more follow the spark of Infinite will be squashed instantly.

Genuine question: Is there a custom setting that modifies the sprinting angle? Because I have positively tested this about a dozen times now and the game consistently kicks me out of sprint at or around 40 degrees. I have measured the distances traversed, I literally have filmed the controller, and it always comes back to 40 degrees.
It can’t be us using two different patch versions, as the game requires an online connection for Forge, making sure that the game is up-to-date. I don’t know what the difference is, but I know for a fact that my game does not allow sprinting past 45. And it’s not a question of “git gud”, because the game simply disables sprint after the stick has been rotated past a certain angle.
EDIT: I see Fraps in the upper-right corner of your video. Did you film this on the Forge App for Windows 10 instead of the Xbox? Does the Win10-App maybe have different settings? After all, we do know that the two titles are incompatible for crossplay.

So we should make the game more generic like all those other games? how will that help Halo retain a unique identity and playerbase if it’s just as recycled as every other game?

I really have no idea what’s causing the discrepancy. There isn’t a setting for it that I know of. But I assume we’re all using the default settings the game throws at us anyway.

he doesnt understand that “it takes practice to hit max angle and just because you fail, doesnt mean it doesnt exist.” he had no reason to dismiss my video, that i’m aware of.

I understand where you are coming from, however Halo has lost a major piece of it’s unique gameplay style that made it so popular. This has been an extremely divisive topic since it’s inception in Halo: Reach. Sprint alters gameplay in many game-changing and important ways.

I’d be fine with sprint being removed if they made the walking speed a bit faster
