I’d like to see the return of a ruthless enemy that we all know in love and hate at the same time. The Flood. They would be a good addition to the plot and if they can, make a twist in the story. Thats what I think.

I think the flood was a great enemy in the series and would be glad to have them back, so long as they don’t replace the Prometheans.
I found that the Promethans were a great amount of fun fighting, a fresh idea, and great replacement for the flood. Don’t get me wrong though, I didn’t hate the Flood, but it feels good not to be fighting the same enemy over and over again from game to game.
Overall though, I still think they should bring the flood back, because they added a horror/tension feeling to Halo.
i would like the flood back it would be insane to fight three enemies the storm covenant the promethians and the flood. We haven’t fought 3 enemies since halo CE which was the covenant the flood and the monitor/ sentinels

I want the Flood back. However, they should be crap-in-pants scary. Halo CE and Halo 2 had levels that were borderline terror inducing. I’d like to see certain levels in Halo where the developers got for straight out horror; not with the other factions; just the Flood.
I expect nothing less than the Covenant, Prometheans, The Flood and the Forerunners in all out chaos in H5G
It saddens me to think the Flood will not return, but I believe this is the case. I think 343i has something new planned for us.
I want the Flood to return as a nightmarish enemy. I’d fully enjoy being scared to death by them. And I know for a fact that 343i would handle them expertly, because they made the Didact to be a somewhat frightening and disturbing adversary in Halo 4 (seeing someone being composed freaked me out a little, and the beginning of the track Pylons is pretty intimidating). 343i is bringing Halo into a good direction, and if we look away from all the flashy heroes and cool effects and hopeful overtones, the Halo Universe truly is a very, very dark and disturbing place, and 343i is doing it justice.
Seeing as how Flood spores are drifting aboard the SoF, it’s certain that they will return soon enough.
The Flood in Halo 2 could use a variety of weapons and operate vehicles. They did a whopping amount of damage individually. The combat forms were very fast and aggressive, but headshots and sword swings were very effective against them. They were near perfect, there were just a few things that were bothersome, like how they could randomly backsmack you even though the sword is the only weapon in the game that can do that.
Whereas the Flood in Halo 3 were slower, weaker, and restricted in abilities. Also, dealing damage to them was very inconsistent. Sometimes they could become invulnerable to your melee (including sword swings). If you stuck a Pure Form while it was transforming, the grenade wouldn’t do anything.
Basically, Halo 2 Flood would be the ideal model to work off of.

Exactly, the flood has been over used. I think getting rid of them was a good call on 343i’s part.

Compared to the covenant?
I am not as attached to the Flood as most of you are, but that’s okay. I am okay if the Flood comes back and I am also fine if it doesn’t. However, I would love to see more of the Covenant military at work. I would love to see a battle between the Didact’s Covenant military and the UNSC and SPARTAN IVs. If they added that to the story, I would melt out of joy. Haha.
The retunr of the flood will eventually happen, but it will be awesome to have brutes again, did you see the halo 4 brute concept on the beggining of the campaign? they never show the brutes face.
I hope there’s a mission like the mona lisa if the flood return, or at least a recording we find like in halo ce. Long live Henry

I don’t mind that but I think I’m really more interested in them fleshing out the new enemies. I’d like to see them pushing Halo forward.

To 343i I’d say, keep being brave.
i think the mighty grunt should return inside halo 5, there was not enough of them in halo 4. more grunts= more fun
