Now after watching this weekends tourney I came to realize something. I have enjoyed Halo and competitive gaming for a very long time. The micro-transaction market made for an extremely healthy prize pool for the HCS. Now my focus is on some of the veteran tournament players of Halo’s past. The Modern pro gamer can make loads of cash with Subscriptions to channels and sometimes even getting paid to play with other Halo players. Their revenue stream is much more vast than the Pro gamers of a decade ago. My proposal is create a Req pack as a tribute to the competitive gamer’s of Halo’s past. All the revenue from these packs would be divided up amongst the Halo Professional Veterans committee (which I just made up) or create a Halo Pro Gamer Hall of Fame (which I believe I am also making up) and will consist of maybe 30 to 40 players. It would contain very unique skins, armor, and perhaps a special emblem.
These guys can’t sell autographs like pro sports players can. They don’t have a senior gaming tour as far as I know. But these vets made a game I was already excited about even more exciting. They created a great competitive platform for the modern competitive gamer. This is not charity. Its a tribute pack. It would be a thank you from the Halo Community for being part of the reason this franchise has been so great to play and watch. If you don’t like the idea…don’t buy the pack… Sure I could just seek out some channels of the vets and donate one by one but this is not only more convenient but I think it would be a cool gesture from the fans and 343.
