3600 Microsoft Points. That’s the prize I had to pay to get the 3 Multiplayer Map Packs for Halo Reach. I got them early on to play them as much as I could.
Now, I cannot play in the DLC maps I payed for. The way 343 reweighted the playlists so you get paired up with people who own DLC doesn’t work that great. I’ve played 15 matches to no avail. No DLC has shown up whatsoever.
On top of that, I have the impression that because the game tries to track down specific players with DLC, the loading times now take longer to match up players. To no avail anyways.
I cannot find DLC anywhere outside the random Anniversary playlists that offer random settings in every round. I don’t know what the hell I’m going to play next, and most people who play these playlists only have the Anniversary Map Pack.
I can no longer play in any Noble nor Defiant map because 343 removed the spceific playlists to get those maps. I can’t play in the maps I paid for, let alone get the achievements that came with them.
343, the removal of the DLC only playlist was a misstep.
It’s just so sad!
Honestly, i bought Noble and Defiant MP to play online, play some good ol’ capture the flag. Not to play Custom Games with 8-12 years old.
Wait, there’s a system in place where you’re supposed to be paired up with other DLC owners? lol I wouldn’t have known! Either the system doesn’t work or NO ONE’S got the DLC because in hundreds of games outside the premium playlist I NEVER get a Defiant map (And I LOOOOVE Breakpoint).
Seems like a bad idea especially considering the Anniv. pack comes with Defiant achievements. They’re easy achievements, but what makes it hard is the 5% likelihood you’ll ever get to play on a Defiant map. :\

The new system sucks. I haven’t found one DLC map in MM yet.
343i i dont know why you think you have to remove premium slayer …it would be good if you choose to make team slayer and invasion to requ8ire these maps but just remove it so i cant play the maps i paid for is just gay

Not once did a DLC map come up in the Infection list searching with randoms.
Of 1031 matches in Rumble Pit 14 matches have been on DLC maps. Halo 3 had a much higher penetration of DLC - Blackout, Citadel, Foundry, Heretic came up a lot more regularly in Lone Wolves and Rumble Pit.
Ya wanna know what I don’t know . . . Why they feel they need to condense the playlists? I feel like there should be much more to make things more specified. Noble and Defiant should get their own list, along with Anniv. and then an all-encompassing “Premium” which has all.
Like one beef I have with condensing, for example, Invasion should be “Invasion Only”. I hate playing Invasion slayer, because if I wanted to play Slayer, I’d go to one of the tons of other Slayer playlists. I’m in “Invasion” because I want to play “invasion”, believe it or not.
Unrelated rant: They also need a strictly vehicle playlist. I want some Banshee dogfight matches.

I completely agree with the Invasion thing. Go play Slayer if you want Slayer gametypes. Leave Invasion to Invasion.

But those 1031 games in Rumbel Pit was with the old DLC matchmaking system. Not saying that the new matchmaking for DLC owners is super but you get the point.

Although I agree with you, there aren’t “tons” of Slayer playlists anymore. 343 made sure of that by removing Premium Slayer and adding so many objectives to all the Anniversary playlists.

They claim there is a hard limit on the number of playlists. That’s the reason they gave for removing the Firefight Limited playlist in preparation for adding the Anniversary playlists.
343’s super new algorithm thingy doesn’t seem super efficient. I played 4 hours of multi team yesterday, and 6 hours today and never even seen a new map once.
So yup, bring back premium battle ( heck was an awsome playlist, 6v6, vehicles, invasion, slayer, pretty good maps too… RIP).

I agree though, 343i really did drop the ball on this one, if people are still playing Reach chances are that they have all the DLC so why not make it a requirement rather then punish those who bought them?

Anniversary FF is just Arcade on one map: a joke. They didn’t even try bring back what FF was all about: survival and challenge. 343 screwed up on that one.

Yea this is total crap, i want to play the maps aswell. Either they make having the maps mandatory across all playlists and increase the chance they have of showing up or they need to bring back the playlist back that focuses only on DLC.
It is a rip off, I paid for the maps and they removed them, WHY DO THEY SELL THEM?..
I want my money back, plus my achievements. When I bought them, they did not tell me any conditions…like you will enjoy them for only 3 weeks… Humm…
