The Redesigned Forward Unto Dawn

A search shockingly showed up with nothing.

A thought occurred to me as to why the Forward Unto Dawn was almost completely redesigned from the Halo 3 half-section, and the answer was fairly simple; level design. Even given the size of the ship as seen in the Halo 3 mission “The Ark,” not much of a level could be made for it.

Now, granted, the dilemma remains of how to fit it with canon (other than just “take it,”) but any thoughts on this?

i’d probably say just take it, like how we have to take the fact the chief is redesigned, i mean its not like there was anyone around who would redesign a ship, not repair it or even rescue the chief, let alone cortana waking him when she detects something

They did not have to redesign the aft section completely … I mean the least they could do was put back the underside hangar (where the Chief and the Arbiter landed in Halo 3’s ending) and then putting the thrusters where they are supposed to be (on the side fins) and not right at the back of the ship .

343i promised us that they would stick as much to the canon as possible , but this is just way too poorly done .

actually chief being redesigned is explained in halo glasslands when it said that cyro tubes can fix and upgrade Spartans armor

I noticed some major differences but that’s to be expected under a new studio. It’s not that big of deal once you consider what’s left of the ship crashes onto Requiem and loses any and all significance afterwards.

Really, it’s just going to end up being pile space scrap on a Forerunner Shield World. :stuck_out_tongue:

If someone pulls the Nanobot joke on the redesign of FuD…

OP’s right. It really WAS done because the original design didn’t work or make sense as a level, so in that regard everything goes.
