First it was a trilogy, then a saga–now what is it? Has there been any official clarity as to whether or not Infinite is considered a part of the “Reclaimer” phase of Halo or are they moving on from this?
From the art style alone and talk of “spiritual reboot” it feels like we’ve entered a new era of Halo—which, if that is the case, hard to say that it felt like the Reclaimer Saga was ever finished…
Ha I forgot about this, us lore and campaign fan boys totally got screwed on this one…
Was hoping this spiritual reboot would go the route of continuing along those lines. He is afterall on a ring world where flood are kept in containment. Where he could meet the monitor of installation 07.
Halo Infinite is still part of the Reclaimer Saga. It continues the conflict that Halo 5 started… at least I hope so.

Halo infinite will continue halo 5s story this is confirmed. I’m assuming it will be the end of the reclaimed trilogy while also starting a new era of halo

Halo: Infinite is supposed to be a spiritual ‘reboot’. So I doubt it will be the end if they are trying to soft reboot the franchise. That is counter to what reboot means.

pretty sure its over given the response to their absolute mess of H5
The Reclaimer saga was composed along with the Didacts dreams. After Halo 4 I’m not really sure what happened to the plot lines that were started up.
I suspect Halo Infinite will try somehow to finish the saga halfway through the game and start a new storyline right after. Just like the Hobbit trilogy, Smaug is taken down ten minutes of the third movie and “quickly, we don’t have time, ket’s go to the battle of the five armies, the Smaug we’ve been crafting for two movies doesn’t matter anymore!”
I’m very skeptical about this “spiritual reboot” thing coming to the surface because it means that 343 are not much interested and confident in continuing the stories they started in Halo 4 and dumbing down the Master Chief once again, since basically none actual plot point were resolved in a meaningful way since Halo 4. It is surreal.

“Titled”
They want this game to last 10 years.

True but it’s not really a reboot of the series when they say this is gonna be the last. Now if they had said it would be the last of chiefs story then sure.

Yes it is a spiritual/ soft reboot, but they also confirmed it still picks up the events of halo 5. The spiritual reboot simply means they are trying to give it the same feeling as halo ce.
I can’t remember where they say it exactly but, 343 said this game would end the reclaimer saga and be a platform for new stories.
Not really. They’ll probably tie up loose story threads and make some Destiny-ish nonsense they can spread across DLCs.
After the announcement that the pvp stuff is F2P, campaign/lore/story is 100% an afterthought at 343, they got Fortnite $$$ in their eyes. The game already looked like Apex Legends with a Halo skin and now I guess we know why.
Rather than make a stellar product that moves their hardware and expands their user base so Xbox can peddle Gamepass to more people, they’re going to chase the Battle Royale trend. Xbox has become a very pvp centric console anyways so I guess I shouldn’t be surprised.

My exact same thoughts.
PS5 equal singleplayer focused console.
Xbox Series X equal low console with low quality games focused more on the online only aspect.

And that’s probably why that MetroUK report showed 85% of respondents chose PS5 over XSX. It’s sad but Xbox has been going this way for a while.
