The Reason We Play Halo.

Do we play Halo for the great multiplayer? No.
Do we play Halo for its amazing music? No.
Do we play Halo for its graphics? NO NO AND HECK NO!
We play Halo for the campaign, the wonderfully deep and amazing campaign… The unbelievably touching and re-playable campaign.
I remember the first time I saw the flood in Halo CE, I made a little flood in my pants myself… I was like 7 dude, gimme a break. And the new take of Halo 2, playing as the Arbiter, fighting brutes and flood, the ending got me so -Yoink!- excited for Halo 3 I would jump 3 times to calm myself of excitement whenever I thought of it… And then Halo 3, finishing the fight, siding with the elites… Killing the prophet, and the flood… Halo Reach and ODSTs CAMPAIGNS were good, not on par with previous Halo games.

While watching this video, I felt a warm ticklish feel at the top of my stomach, forcing my to constantly smile out of nostalgia… I felt SO happy while watching that, I couldn’t NOT smile while watching it… It was GLORIOUS! Just the footage, Cortana, Chief, everyone!

Why do we keep aimlessly and endlessly arguing about multiplayer? We never played Halo for its multiplayer, we played it for its campaign, the Halo campaign touched me personally, in every way… That’s why I love it.

This video made me smile.

uh… i play for multiplayer…

Really? Because I play Halo for campaign, music, MP, customs and all the rest.

I really like the campaign of Halo and I always go through it first but it is probably only 20% of the time that I play. The rest is Multiplayer.

Edit: Hit post before I finished my sentence

I play for the

Match Making with Friends

That’s all

I respectfully disagree.

WOW! You guys are missing out on like …A LOT!

I play Halo for forge all game modes. Its background stories are a strong influence as well.

> WOW! You guys are missing out on like …A LOT!

Uh no? We play the campaign… beat it… then go on to multiplayer… duh.

We’re not gonna be palying campaign for 3 freakin years.

> Really? Because I play Halo for campaign, music, MP, customs and all the rest.

This, but the campaign is the most important part IMO.

Come for the campaign, stay for the multiplayer… But Halo’s crown jewel has always been its amazing campaign, take Reach for example… The campaign is somewhere between good and great but the multiplayer is just dumb.

> Do we play Halo for the great multiplayer?

… Yes? Along with campaign of course.

Many in the Halo community disagree, including myself, who has played Halo 2’s campaign more than the rest of the Halo’s combined, (all modes). 7 years worth of Campaign.

I only recently (later Halo 3 era) did I start to get into matchmaking, otherwise it is campaign and LAN from 2001-2008.

Yes, I do play Halo mainly for the Story and I’m so excited for the Campaign. But it’s not the only thing people buy the game for, many prefer the multiplayer (I don’t know why, but that’s their choice). Halo is really one of the few games which has everything perfect. The Campaign is beautiful and the multiplayer is amazing, especially with Forge and Custom Games added. There is something for everyone!

Haha I thought Reach’s campaign was moderate and the multiplayer is also moderate. For the overall Halo story line I don’t count the Reach campaign because there are major issues with the canon. I would rather read Fall of Reach.

yeah thats my opinion on Reach to, but I still even though its cannon is ambiguous I think it was better than Halo 3s because you could tell what was going to happen but in reach you knew -Yoink- was going to to get -Yoinked!- up but you didn’t know how and the ending was perfect far better than halo 3s up in the air open to sequels nonsense.

True MM lasts for ever
Campaign only last till I bet it 20 times

I love the story more than anything, but the longevity is in the multiplayer, and guess what, multiplayer is now tieing in to the story!!

Speak for yourself. I play Halo for the multiplayer, and only the multiplayer. If the multiplayer is bad I absolutely will not buy the game, I’ll rent it to play the campaign a single time but after that I’d be done with it.

You forgot Forge. :frowning: The Campaign is definitely the most important part of the experience, and it’s sad to see just how many people don’t appreciate it.
