The reason this game failed

It’s Call Of Duty light.

Why would anyone want to play COD light, when they can go play the real thing?

All introducing COD elements did was make the game generic. 343 should have either stuck to what made Halo unique or innovate and implement brand new systems.

7.39 million sales world wide to date. I wouldn’t consider that a failure.

Halo 4 is a great game that needs some tweaking. Halo 4 has borrowed ideas from the evolution of FPS, and while that might mean COD, COD has does its fair share of borrowing from Halo in the past.

The general negative opinion of everyone in these forums is not unique to Halo 4. The vast volume of similar topics existed when Reach launched as well.

I agree that the negative tone seems a little greater then back in 2010, but I think there are two parts to that. 1) We recognize that this game is so close to be VERY good. 343 nailed some of the stuff that we can’t even describe in words. However some sandbox balancing, and glitches needs fixing. 2) The overall negative tone and entitlement of the “player” has been magnified across all video games since 2010.
