I think it is is quite obvious the reason that Elites are no longer playable is that during the Halo 5 campaign the Elite home world is going to be destroyed and blown to smithereens, thus wiping out the entire race to near extinction. Therefore it would make no sense for them to appear as playable characters in multiplayer as canonically there will not be enough of the race left to fight any longer.

Why not? Who’s to say the Elites will even be in Halo 6? If they are destroyed to near extinction in Halo 5 they would probably not be in Halo 6.
The elite species is not going to be easily wiped out like the flood. The covenant and even the cult elites have many territories that they captured during the halo trilogy leading up to this point, wiping out one planet will hurt them but it wont extinct them.
The real reason why elites arent a playable race is because it doesnt tie in with the storyline (if you dont want to say that the devlopers are being lazy.) Basically the master chief is back fighting the covenant or some cult of them anyway. Along with the forerunners it wouldnt make sense to play as the bad guys in multiplayer arena (also known as spartan training not elite training.) Plus if they made elites a playable race people would start complaining about how prometheans aren’t a playable race. Either way we should be happy playing the game at what it will be anyways and not what it could be. Its not fair to the developers.

Not to mention that the UNSC doesn’t possess a bloody Death Star… the NOVA is their most powerful weapon and it hardly destroyed a planet.

Except the Sangheili have multiple colonies, there is no evidence that Sanghelios will be destroyed, only that jul’s faction will be completely rekt and what you say has no basis in canon and is just baseless speculation and non logical thinking. If Sanghelios goes down there are hundreds of other planets left and Sanghelios won’t go down because if it does then the SoS are gone too and if that happens humanity is finished.

Why use UNSC equipment when there is access to promethean tech and the guardians???
Considering the covenant own a large portion of the galaxy, one planet will not make the sangheili an endangered species.

It’s a casual playlist. Those aren’t considered canon. Same goes for Griffball and Oddball. Why would you be playing these games when you have to train for war lol
