The reason flood is not in the game

Since halo 4 one of the most requested tings is the return of the flood or the brutes, and then the complains about why Prometheans replaced covenant. Just imagine all of the halo games having the same history and the same enemies, that would not only be boring but repetitive, a lot of people would complain about why the games are the same, so, basically that is why I think they are missing in the game. Although the addition of these characters to firefight would be nice.

It’s a totally probable idea, that does make sense!

And also because of the Lore. Is hard to get back the flood when it was exterminated in halo 3. Would be frustrating if they comeback quickly. I think they will comeback with the spirit on fire or maybe with a little help from Cortana.

And also it kinda got PWNED in Halo 3.

Well, the flood and covenant were destroyed in H3, but Ill take them over whats going on now in the story. Prometheans are boring as hell

I’d take Flood over Prometheans any day, week, month, or year.

Return of either lifeform would require more shoehorning by 343i. The Covenant fell apart and disbanded after the Great Schism so there is no logical way the Brutes can return. As for the Flood, I think they are missing because the Gravemind was killed in H3 and 343i is acknowledging that the Flood is no longer a threat to humanity. Also, the focus of H4 and H5 was only on humanity’s war against the forerunners, so bringing back the Flood would complicate the story and take it away from the forerunner conflict.

I didnt really like the flood in Halo 4

The Flood was never exterminated. The ones we defeated in Halo 3 were a very small part of the overall force that they have. There are other installations throughout the galaxy that have Flood.

It’s Halo I buy to play Halo, what are Spartans repetitive so they should be replaced by mechs?

It’s because that trilogy is over this is something new and fresh but 343i can still deliver these things for sure through expansions and new games.

THANK YOU! I’ve been looking for a good reason to explain this but you did it for me. Plaster this everywhere.

One they didn’t kill off the flood, and for campaign the route they took would be hard lore wise to put it in for h5, but multiplayer is a simulation the brutes and flood can be in it with out effecting lore cause key word was simulation

Ok. But no.

The Covenant disbanded and fractured into dozens of smaller sects. Which can be just as lethal to humanity as a collective Covenant. The Covenant was predictable, if nothing else. Brutes could easily return and of course they would be a threat.

Flood? Your description of them isn’t even correct, lore-wise. First, a Gravemind isn’t a single being. A Gravemind is nothing more than a mass collection of Flood. There could, in theory, be infinite Graveminds.

Secondly, one Flood spore could destroy an entire species. So to say the Flood isn’t a threat is just ridiculous.

So please don’t plaster that post everywhere. There’s not much about it that is accurate.

EDIT:

Halo 4 and 5 are not about humanity’s war against the Forerunners. It’s more-so about humanity’s story after becoming the big dogs in the galaxy. The Promethean Army is there, and it was headed by the Didact, but the Didact did not speak for the Forerunners as a whole.

Now with Halo 5’s insanely questionable turn of events and focus on Cortana and her “Created” I fear Halo 6 and anything onwards will simply be the age-old “wat if technology gits 2 stronk. ooo no!” Instead of the highly anticipated story of Humanity’s ascending to claim the Mantle, if they even chose to accept that responsibility or even agreed to it. It would be a journey for the entire species, not just an iRobot rehash (which I fear it has turned into).

That is true about the simulation part for the war games but not for campaign, I really hope they read the flood in halo 6, if they even have enough money for the game.
