I’ve never used MKB I have only ever played Halo on console. Having said that, Infinite is by far the most difficult aiming and movement in a Halo game I’ve ever played.
I don’t know why, I don’t know if it’s a controller vs MKB or some weird way 343i choose to develop the game. All I know is that it doesn’t feel as consistent as previous halo titles.
If you are talking about mcc its because the aim assist on those games was designed to be used at 30 fps and nowadays you can play that at above 100 fps easily. That makes aim assist cracked in those games. Its not so much that the aim assist is weak in halo infinite but more like aim assist op in the other halo games. And thats why there are no mnk players left on that game. And if there are they only play swat.
The BR is one of the few weapons in the game that feels ok. Also, perfects on controller are not that common. Frosty or Snipedown maybe get a couple per game. It’s not like the old days where 4-shotting was common.
The problem mnk have is that the 3-burst spread and needing to shoot it in sequence is much easier with a thumbstick. This is because you can use a flick technique which improves your chances of adjusting back on target and performing the finishing headshot, which is harder to do on mnk I think. Also, controller players use the strafe more to compliment their aiming, rather mnk use more cursor position.
Dont see many console players get perfects tbh, I see that more common on pc but cant tell the input.
Alot of people still aim at the head for some reason which hurts perfects and accuracy.
I should hope no one wants a certain platform or side dieout, sadly I dont think that’s the case as people are childish still and stuck in console wars and just hate. Iv seen games lose everyone because of asymmetric gameplay and two sides could never agree and just moaned.
Maybe pc controller needs an adjustment, cant really say but as a console point of view it seems fine. Most of the players at the top leaderboard are PC so that’s all I can say as a fact in my experience.
But they do show that, if you ignored it then that’s on you. The first guy I post went gold but he also played most of his corssplay ranked games with KBM. He switched over about 2/3rds in to get placed. As I said, he’s casual at best and even he noticed a huge difference with controller.
The 2nd guy, he’s a top ranked KBM player, native KBM player and hasn’t touched controller in 6 years I believe he said. Take a top ranked player who plays controller natively and put them on KBM, I bet they struggle.
It really feels that enemies can matrix their way out of your burst when you are using mnk and you always end up missing one bullet. The br is much more consistent with a controller.
That’s also because the AA and bullet mag carries at range with controller.
I’ll kill two stones with one bird (yes I said that). I’ll do a SWAT mode and show you what I mean along with the AA at range and outside or RRR. Some people claim and swear that AA is not activated outside of RRR (red reticle range).
I’m casual and got D1 in all? Once again hes PC though I’m console. Sure controller gets AA but that’s due to mouse being naturally easier so that’s why aa is added to try balance it out.
Having said that it’s not huge like I see everyone say it is, but once again I only see pc complain about the AA being so strong and I only had that experience a few times but it seemed different on different systems
For context, people are used to a more consistent aiming experience. If you compare infinite’s aiming to 5’s, or any previous halo title, there’s a big difference.
They’re just using hyperbolic expressions to get the point across. They aren’t saying there’s literally zero aim assist.
Im not sure how Aim Assist is quantified. Ill assume its percentages for the sake of this argument:
Im a long time controller player who has argued and advocated to NOT change the balancing between the two inputs. However, this game seems to have a legitimate balancing issue – even if its small. Maybe its in PC optimization, so start there? Maybe its in all the server desync issues? Idk.
Its gonna be hard to gauge newer players who didnt give Halo enough time, but theres a lot of longtime Halo fans who switched to PC w/ M&K once it was possible. These guys seem to have legit claim… with that being said, id be interested to see a SMALL buff to m&k AA or(1% -2%)… OR a SMALL nerf to controller (1% - 2%).
Also, make it a shadow nerf/buff so the sweats dont complain any more than they already do… im a sweat for the record lol
Edit: i should include that the only reason i think theres a problem is because of the sheer amount of people complaining about the balance. Its almost every m&k user. Theres other things that need to be fixed long, LONG before this gets balanced though. Server issues and desync wlto start, then PC optimization.
