So long as 343 continues this failing trend of CODesque gimmicky gameplay and Reach game style, the Halo franchise will never get back on its feet.

I suppose many would call me ‘hyper-competitive’ but in all honestly I’d probably be at about Halo 2 competitive level. I was just getting into MLG when Reach came out and now that I’ve gone back to Halo 3 there’s not enough people on MLG to find a game.
Personally I’d split the game into ranked and social. Social has loadouts, AA, ordinance, sprint etc. Ranked doesn’t have that stuff instead it has CSR, spawn in weapons, no superweapons (binary rifle and others like it) and some gametypes have no radar.
Everybody wins.
A well thought out post. I agree with you, and I also think we are all competitive at heart. For me personally it depends, sometimes I’m very serious but I mix it up a bit. I like to play competitively but when I’m on live with friends that aren’t competitive they get a bit annoyed with it so we just end up joking around.
This is a fun post because it is a pleasant one. That is the key and you nailed it. Thanks for posting this, it is a nice change of pace
