A lot of guns in this game are kinda worthless. Fun to use but not the best for trying to win.

Pretty sure 343 was planning on buffing X or Y weapon, since in the flights the Ravager was good. Some weapons were left untouched, hence why they were planning to balance things out. At least, in past Halos, despite DMR/BR being the best, others were equally “ok” to use. Some weapons in Infinite are simply unviable and you’re at a clear disadvantage by using them.

It isn’t bad, it is a utility weapon.
Using its area denial mode in any point control mode allows for easy kills with other weapons and forcing enemies to take different paths.
Also it takes down shields pretty quickly just sucks at dealing health damage.

Agreed. Not viable in any situation really.
Ravager and Disrupter need a slight buff.

Maybe if targets stood still.
Using the secondary function on the Ravager is an easy way to get killed. It takes forever to charge and if it finally does fire without you dying, enemies just move out of the way and kill you.
So many guns are like this, the Pulse Carbine, the Wrangler, the Commando, the Disrupter, even the Hydra seems pretty weak at times.
Some weapons have an excuse for being trash because they’re just for support, but others like the Pulse Carbine and Commando are terrible for no particular reason at all. Only power weapons and a few others like the AR are actually useful in a combat situation.

While that is true taht is why I like using it exculsively in BTB, you have a ravager, you are not a priority target. you just lit the control point on fire, the enemies no longer have shields.
That said yeah it needs a charge time and damage buff.

It’s a niche weapon, it was a little OP in flights, so I can see why it was nerfed. However, purely being a zone denial weapon makes it only viable for strongholds and so forth. And you have to have grenades handy to pop shields in sync with it otherwise the DoT does nothing at all.

I didn’t sign up for the flights, so I wouldn’t know.
It admittedly can be used in certain areas, but overall it needs a damage buff I would also agree.
I would trade the Brute Shot for the Ravager any day, I hope they bring it back.
I miss flight ravager so bad man. Current ravager is so bad you have to macro your mouse to fire as efficiently as possible so you can focus on aiming as efficiently as possible JUST TO CLEAR THE LEVEL 3 DRILL WITH 3 STARS. Thats just bad design.
Oh and I almost forgot as if one last kick while its down the drill requirement was bumped from 18k to 22k. Making it damn near impossible to do.
