I really like and appreciate the improvements that have been made to the Ravager. It’s strong but not overpowered, and very much worth picking up and using now. It legitimately jumped from a D tier weapon to what I consider a B tier weapon, which is a good place to be in this sandbox.
BUT it still has a few problems that hold it back from being on the same level as the other tier 2 weapons.
Namely these two things are the problem:
- it overheats too fast to properly counter vehicles on its own, which is one of its primary uses. By comparison the Hydra, Sentinel beam, and Heatwave are far faster, more efficient warthog killers.
- It has a very limited ammo capacity by comparison. It’s completely spent after 3-4 kills, and that’s on normal Spartans. Against Vehicles you’re lucky to get 2. I understand the overcharge mortar taking a lot of energy, but normal shots could use a small tweak.
Maybe I’m overthinking it, and it really doesn’t need to be changed over and over. It’s just a limitation I’ve observed while playing a lot of btb lately.
Edit: and it makes sense after I think about it. They increased the damage it does per shot, but also increased vehicle armor on some of the vehicles like the warthog. I think it just takes more to kill it than it did before.
