Has any information been given about the ranking system? Because honestly, if they dont put truskill back in, or something along those lines, the game will not be as successful as it could be.
Nothing has been said yet. The only things they have said that they are working on something that should be better than Halo 3’s “1-50” system and Reach’s Arena system.

Reach used True Skill when matching up players online, you just didn’t get to see it in game. 343 lets you see it on Waypoint with the BPR (Battle Proficiency Rating), which is essentially True Skill calculated on a 1-100 scale instead of 1-50.
Everything we’ve seen so far points to rank being tied to credits again in Halo 4. It’d be a nice touch if the BPR was displayed somewhere easily accessible in the online lobby, though.
That said, I don’t think Halo 4’s success will be affected by its ranking system. In my experience, the people who obsess over rank are a small, but vocal minority. It’s a friggin’ game. As long as you’re having fun and contributing to your team, the emblem next to your name doesn’t matter. I played with plenty of 5 star Generals in Halo 3 who were total -Yoink- when it came to working with the team and thus utterly useless for objective matches.

The military rank is not the trueskill rank. It is something anyone can rank up by playing the War Games, and the Spartan Ops multiplayer modes.
We do not have any clue at this point what ranking system they will do, besides what has already been mentioned at this time.
