I don’t mind the whole gaining experience thing, but if your k/d is a .5 you should not be a level 60. I miss the old days and the 1-50 ranking system. I would really like it if 343 added a few competitive playlists… (especially some where guests are not allowed and you can’t join a game half way through)

This is the generation of the entitled gamer, where everybody is a winner. 343i is ensuring that no matter how bad you are, you will never end up with a 0 at the end of the match. Even if you did absolutely nothing all game, taking damage could earn you "distraction points’.
Visible trueskill rank is just a “ego stroke” for the people that care. They serve no purpose but to “belittle others” who have a lower rank. It’s also just a “collection of pixels” that have no meaning. So to make sure nobody’s feelings are hurt it was replaced with a progressive system where everybody is a winner.
However a ranking system will be implemented for the people that care, but it will not be visible in game. Instead you will have to quit Halo 4, boot up waypoint to see if you ranked up, then load Halo 4 back up again.
It will only be about a 10 minute process. So if you play 6 matches and check your rank in between each match it will only take about an hour. Now nobody’s feelings are hurt with visible ranks in game, and it only takes you about an hour looking up your rank. It’s a win win situation for everybody.
I dont want to grind xp for hours to get a helmet. I want something to work towards. Without the VISIBLE 1-50 ranking system of Halo 2 and Halo 3 this game will have no replay value whatsoever! It will be just like reach, great for a casual cod style gamer who is used to a new game every year, but for a halo fan that loves the franchise and wants to fully enjoy each game it gets dreadfully boring when you dont have a skill rank to work for! I LOVE halo, this game was a huge part of my childhood, i just want to see the game succeed and progress. Please 343, add visible ranks to lobbies.

Well anyone can get to SR-60 since it is a progression system. 343 said they were adding a Competitive Rank System in early 2013 that would match people with other people of equal skill.
