If you think this is going to “fix” ranked, you’re kidding yourself. All this is going to do is make even less people play it. There are so many different ways 343 could have dealt with this issue that don’t involve preventing people from playing.

The changes are fine but it doesn’t take away the fact that the game is bad!

I feel for this implementations to work better… on the drop of the second Campiagn DLC they need to re release Multiplayer…. New UI/Progression system - where you could say you can only play in ranked when you reach officer status.

Then for the other to work we need more ranked playlist that are less hardcore than the HCS settings that we have for people that want to play with friends.

That’s my take on the setting change, they ar e good but they don’t help a game that has zero social places to play.

Meh, I’m just going to quit games and throw shots until my rank drops from Diamond 5 back to Gold So i can play with my friends again.
Simple.
Nothing changes for me.
Rank means nothing.
Join a HCS Discord and play some custom 8’s or scrim with pro teams if you want to get better at comp play.
Nothing official or with reward- say Rayleigh, Bracket Tournaments or anything is done through playing ranked online…
All seems pointless to care about.

Why are they focusing on this “fix” and not desync/ anti cheat/ localized server searching options?
This change will do nothing to fix core issues with the game.

The gap between the possible highest and lowest rank that can match up is still enormous in regard to actual skill, team work and gameplay knowledge.

This is because there is a much smaller pool of players to choose from which is the same reason that they cannot turn crossplay off

Then your friends need to get good if they want to play ranked.

You want precision modes? Complain with the rest of us.

But don’t let ranked get dragged down because 343i isn’t giving us a basic social mode.

All it’s going to do is force people to make smurf accounts or they will intentionally lose Ranked matches to drop their rank low enough to play with friends. So the problem everyone is complaining about is going to get worse.

There are plenty of people who already do that. Anybody who plays on a regular basis has encountered a player who is allegedly on their third match ever that goes 23-4 in a Ranked Slayer match.

I’m sure that’s one reason why they are requiring “new” accounts to complete 25 Social matches before they can play in the Ranked playlist.
