Is their lore somewhere about this armor? I’m a little confused on how it all works…the starting point and such

It seems that no, the main armor (chest piece, “crotch” guard, forearms, etc.) are not scavenged. Only the parts the player can swap in and out (perhaps except for the helmet) are scavenged. So, in lore it could make more sense to have a “tactical backpack” rather than a back piece.

If I recall right the power was always located in the back. But that was when MKV was still used. So IDK

This is my main gripe with this armor core, like where is the fusion reactor to power this thing? Is this core even power armor?

It’s possible that it’s inside the little strap holder, or in the front.
The only thing bothering me about this Core is the lack of coatings
It may be to do with the fact that in the US that means butt, but in the UK it’s actually a swear word for a certain body part of a particular gender.
Yes, it needs back plating. This is the one thing that annoys me about this armour.
I think the body style of the armour looks better than the MK VII, but it is more akin to ODST armour, not mjolnir.
I don’t follow the lore in depth, however, this scavenging armour thing doesn’t make sense to me.

Keeping this thread alive I agree even though you cant see your back when playing I dont like the trash bag/spacesuit back we have it needs something there like a mini framed backpack for camping.

Its self repairing armor. Meaning it doesnt need a shield power supply?? Thats just off the details of it. Maybe a gel like or epoxy like substance that fills burns and bullet holes?
But I agree, a pack or an armor plate there would be more pleasing to the eyes. Looks like a 1980’s under suit for astronauts back there lol

343 did answer a question asked about the encyclopedia with the cooling something atachment. (Forgot the name) It’s supposed to repair atmor that has been compromised (Like Sams armor in the fall of reach.) So this would make sense in away.

Brute back plate repurposed brute armor
Octagon, former blast door/cover
Something more than straps and a belt buckle.

Rakshasa does look a little empty on the back- with just the diagonal harness straps rather than anything like an armor plate or ODST style pack.
Would also be a good way to provide cool and unique aspects on a per-core basis (i.e. Some cores have entirely unique attachment slots).

343 needs more excuses to put gimmicky garbage in the shop anyway, and I love the back attachments in MCC, so with the coming crosscore, it would be nice for them to make back attachments crosscore in advance so we can have them when it’s ready. People already planned to make some ODST crosscore stuff, so backpacks would be great, but I’d be all for a Katana throwback

Since their isn’t a " back attachment " tab, an easy way to do this is just make more chest pieces for it that have a back as well. Seems simple but then again this UI is an absolute mess.
