The Railgun is OP in doubles.

Players are camo camping for it like crazy because of it’s power.

It’s easy to use and has too much ammo.

What’s your opinion about it?

Thank you!

I find the Sticky Det 100x better than the rail gun… it just matters how good people are with a certain weapon…

Every gun in the game is overpowered if you’re good with it…

If the railgun was rockets I might agree it’s too big for doubles… but you can see it charging, you have to get a direct hit for a OSK, and it’s slow.

I only find it overpowered on Haven because when people have it, they camp on top mid and you cant even get there.

Power Weapons in Doubles should only have one clip like they did in Reach.

Tell me something new…Haven is a godawful map at the best of times.

> Power Weapons in Doubles should only have one clip like they did in Reach.

Yes. That.

Otherwise, the playlist is great.

Then learn to control it with your team?
People first whine about having ordnances and want to have back timed power weapon spawns for better “map control.”
Now that they offer you this playlist you whine about having weapons too OP.

Seriously learn to control the map or don’t play it at all.

> Power Weapons in Doubles should only have one clip like they did in Reach.

^^ Agreed

> I only find it overpowered on Haven because when people have it, they camp on top mid and you cant even get there.

Power weapons are meant to be OP. Having map control is something new to Halo 4 since instant spawns are in almost every playlist/gametype. You’ll have to adjust to that. However, I do agree that there is too much ammo in the power weapons for the doubles playlist. A railgun with top mid control on Haven is an almost always a guaranteed 4 kills if you’re a solid player. Smaller clips would save a lot of frustration.
Also, if there is extremely passive play by a team camping top mid, they can end up having several full railguns over the course of 2 minutes.
In my opinion, the clips should be halved in the playlist, as doubles is half the players of a 4v4. Being able to kill the entire team twice with one power weapon in 4v4 would be a little ridiculous, ya know?
Other than that, I have no complaints.

thanks for the info…

Just to let you know, its not OP, there just happens to be highly skilled players that know how to use it… side note, me not being one of them, so don’t ask for tips.

i agree in general it is a cheap weapon way to easy to get kills with dont even know why it was in the game. O wait majority of the new weapons are overly cheap!

if it had 2 shots it would be ok, but there is way too much ammo in it for 2 vs 2

If you vote for pro, you don’t have to worry about people camping camo. Halo used to be about outplaying other people. Now it’s about fiesta time everybody wins!

Oh my God!

I thought I was the only one who thought this… Thanks for bringing it because it’s been bugging me for sometime now

Sticky detonator is much worse.

Here’s the issue with your post: You’re playing Infinity Doubles. That gametype is broken as hell.

In all seriousness, yes, the Railgun is a very powerful weapon in doubles, but I see it more as the Rocket Launcher of Doubles. It is the most important weapon to keep control (except for Abandon) and it’s supposed to be overpowering. Whoever has it is supposed to have a HUGE advantage. I would much rather have the Railgun as the almighty power weapon in Doubles over a Rocket Launcher.

I totally agree. It seems like someone has sniper or rail gun the whole game. I think they should reduce the ammo or make them spawn less frequently. Otherwise, I love the new doubles pro mode and love the team throwdown (where the power weapons seem to spawn too frequently too)

Railgun is far too strong in general. If the reticule is red when you fire, you’re basically guaranteed to get a hit… with a OHK weapon.

Sigh.

There has always been a powerweapon that is suppose to be fought over in Doubles.

You might be new to doubles in Halo, but since Halo CE, there has always been map control and fighting over Rockets, Sniper, then eventually Sword, Shotgun, and now Railgun and Sticky Detonator.

You are misusing the word “Overpowered.” Overpowered (OP) means that there is no balance to the map when a certain weapon or vehicle is obtained.

It is not game over when someone gets the Railgun. For a multitude of reasons. It has limited ammo, it respawns multiple times throughout a match (Which allows the other team to have a turn with it if they can grab it), and many many more.

So, please work on your doubles strategy. Learn the timers for railgun. Prepare to get it on respawn. Taking away the power weapons out of Doubles is heresy. I hope you understand what OP means now too. Because the railgun is not OP. Rockets in doubles even, is not OP. The term “OP” gets abused to often on here.

Hope this helps.
