That thing is like a sniper/shotgun/Spartan laser rolled into one. It’s an instant kill, it’s easy to aim, the charge is super quick and it does a ton of damage even to tanks.
I just regularly see a few of them wreck house on Warzone especially since it’s stupidly cheap at 3 req points. Plus you get a ton of ammo for the thing.
The trouble with dodging it is that people either are so close they can’t miss, too much is going on, and the other time they’re too far away to see that blue light. Unlike the laser or hydra it has basically an instant charge.
I mean if they miss or I dodge then yeah I ll take the guy apart before he can swap weapons. But I see seem to dying a lot to that weapon at the minute.

I haven’t had much trouble with dodging them. Situational awareness is a big part of Halo. I’ve seen the bright blue charging rings from far away, the charging sound effect is fairly audible at mid-range or closer, and if you do see one aimed at you, it isn’t hard to use thrusters to get out of the way.

I have a far much bigger issue with dodging the Hydra. Seems everyone can dodge them at any point in time while they seem locked onto me even if I’m behind walls for 5 seconds.

I feel the same, because, I swear, the Hydra’s micro-missiles track better for my enemies than they do for me.
It’s not easy to dodge because in Warzone a lots going on so it’s harder to notice that guy running in with a charged railgun. Plus the blue light isn’t as easy to see, especially at a distance compared to a sniper or laser. Also it has an obscenely quick charge and you get a ton of ammunition for the thing. Compare that to a hydra where the lock on takes longer (as well as getting confused) and the projectiles are slow enough to dodge.
4 REQ which is significantly less than a rocket launcher and only one more than a sword or shotgun. Despite being significantly better and more useful. So it’s just better the other power weapons of similar or even greater cost.

are u kidding, they are all awesome, even the basic one, they are multipurpose death guns that can kill anything

It’s probably because I use them for longer than suggested range.
The basic one takes too long to charge and can’t hold very long.
If basic railgun could hold for 3? more seconds and or have an indicator for its auto fire it would be fine.
Not my favorite weapon by far. Some people are just dang good with it. Or that’s the perception anyways. I despise it. Especially in smaller maps. I refuse to use it unless I’m playing some Warzone.

Significantly less? I believe rockets are now level 5 REQs, which is only one level higher than the railgun. Dude.
The Railgun can prove to be an extremely powerful general-purpose weapon if used in the right hands. Spartans, vehicles, bosses, and more turn to dust with a well-placed shot or two. The weapon demands accuracy, albeit not as much as the Spartan Laser thanks to the faster charge cycle.
Speaking of the Spartan Laser, I tend to see the Spartan Laser personified as the samurai, and the Railgun personified as the ninja. The samurai is slow, cumbersome, and noisy, but deals massive damage to anything when sent out. The ninja is fast, agile, and a little more discreet, but is tailored for more selective and decisive strikes unlike the samurai.
…but I digress.
All you need to do is get some practice in there, and keep building on that foundation until you can use a Railgun to its fullest or create foils should one Railgun be staring at you.
It’s always been a timed thing for me when it comes to dodging railgun shots. And yes I agree, they’re hella easy to aim if you have quick reflexes (most people who play shooters do) But I do think they’re OP when it comes to tanks or just vehicles in general. I once played a match of Warzone on Apex 7 where the enemy team was defending the Spire, and five out of nine of them were equipped with either the regular railgun or the 2nd tier ‘Whiplash.’ My friend and I ended up wasting two ONI tanks on them, haha.

havent really gotten a problem with that weapon since it causes problems only if the target hasnt yet seen the railgun user and its really hard to miss because of the light it emits and besides the railgun user has only one shot in duel that always end up with the one winning that has more experience in either using or dodging the railgun.
