The radar's precision

I was wondering why 343i took out the radar’s ability to give you an indication on whether the players are above you or below you.

Anyone have any ideas?

It’s still there.

That is what the arrow above or below the radar blip is telling you.

Thanks for the info, I wasn’t aware of that.

It’s there. But the Radar seems to have a much longer range in Halo 4 than it did in 2, 3, or Reach. It’s alot more like HAlo CE’s radar. To be honest, it really throws me through a loop in close quarters sometimes, when I have a CQC weapon like an AR, and I want to jump someone who looks like they are literally right in front of me, and when I come around the corner they are still at the end of the hallway :/.

I’ve noticed that too.

Halo 4 and Halo CE Radar both scan 40 meters away, Halo 2 and Halo 3, Reach, all scanned 20-25 meters away.

That is why honestly, the Radar is simply set on a higher base setting than Reach’s radar so sometimes enemies that appear close still are a bit away :P.

They need to honestly dumb down the radar distance in this game. They already have a perk that allows you to have an increased radar. Either that or they need to bring back slayer pro or similar playlist that doesn’t have a radar.
