The radar is so pathetic and not halo

Idk what’s worse the battle pass progression or the radar in this game…. I mean it’s absolutely pathetic……

halos core gameplay has always had a working 25m motion tracker…… this is not call of halo duty 343…… ranked and social should have a radar in place it helps players who are solo queing not everyone and there mom plays with stacked 4v4 teams and makes MLG call outs and I’m someone who likes to play competitive and this ain’t it……

ranked with no radar should have its own playlist wether that be the hcs play list or what not. But halos core gameplay should have a radar that’s actually useful unlike the one in quick play.

I honestly think it’s pretty pathetic on the devs part to have such a useless radar that once was a core staple of halo and set it apart from the other franchises.

More disappointed in this than the battle pass everyone is talking about to be honest….

Yea there is nowhere near enough range on it. Needs to be extended 343

This whole game is not halo. Not necessarily a bad fps but a terrible halo game.

Yup. Reminds me of mw 2019. Not a bad game but not cod :joy::joy:

True, it should be somewhere near 25m.

agreed. The game feels really good and im having a lot of fun playing it but the amount of times ive rushed into instant regret situations because my radar simply didnt show what was around the corner is alarmingly high. not to mention that most engagements happen just outside of its range. almost all of my negative moments in this game are related to just BS radar implementation.

“Not Halo” has got to be the most useless criticism, and I mean that seriously. Could the motion tracker be better? Sure. Focus on that for feedback. But do tell, what is a "Halo" motion tracker as opposed to this?

What is halo motion tracker ? Idk maybe only the same motion tracker that was more than 18m in almost every halo game……

Asking for important changes to a fundamental game mechanic is one thing. Discrediting and harping on developers because they didn’t get it right the first time is completely different.

I agree that the radar should be bigger, but gall, man.

These developers have even less respect for us. Season Pass, poor aim assist for the controller, small radar, etc. These are decisions to make the game more competitive and better for PC players. For streamers, YouTubers. There is a lot of money at stake. They don’t give a -Yoink!- about us.

How? this is way more Halo than 4 or 5 ever was.

Maybe on the whole, but the motion tracker in this game really “isn’t Halo”. In literally every other game, its been 25m, but in this, it’s 18. What’s worse, is they’ve made pretty much all of the guns work in mid range+, so you can get killed by nearly every weapon outside of motion tracker range - including the AR - which is ridiculous.

Halo 3 radar was like 25m so I can see why a lot of people want it back. I honestly dont use the radar because in H5 I was conditioned not to use it because the thing was worthless. I honestly don’t see the need to nerf the radar range because in ranked the radar is disabled.

Maybe its just classic 343i change for the sake of change?

So the range of the tracker - adjustable, by the way - is what makes it “Halo”. Not the aesthetics, not the function… The range.

Ridiculous.

Does that make SWAT, and game types without the motion tracker “not Halo”?

I completely agree, the radar is useless it only gives you a false sense of security to see that there is no red dot when you literally have an enemy two steps away from you

Removing core mechanics of a series makes it feel like ‘not the series’.

They broke the radar, they broke customization, they broke the melee, they broke the aim assist, they broke vehicles, they broke objective melee damage, they broke playlist options, the game crashes on high end PCs, etc. Breaking core mechanics that have worked for 20 years have made this Halo game not feel like a Halo game. Most people who have played past entries in the series have gripes with the new issues that make Infinite feel like any other generic shooter. You would know that if this wasn’t your first Halo game.

  1. They didn’t remove the “core mechanic”. It’s right there, as it’s always been, and even in the same spot that it’s been in every single game. You just don’t like the range.
  2. “Core Mechanics” (good luck identifying these, everyone has their own list) have been added and removed in every title, and as mentioned not seconds before, what is a “Core Halo Mechanic” will differ based on the person and their argument.
  3. Your core mechanic is still there. It is “Halo” by simple virtue of being in a Halo game and aligning with the aesthetics of the MJOLNIR systems outlined in said Halo game.

“They broke, they broke, THEY BROKE!!!” You mean you don’t like it. Well, here’s an idea. If it’s broken, report it. Screaming and wailing “343 broke my Halo! It’s not Halo anymore!” isn’t constructive feedback. And guess what? If you report broken things, chances are it will be fixed. If, you know, it’s not just a preference thing.

Oh, and because this will inevitably come along, the whole “I’m allowed to voice my opinion!” Sure. Yes. You absolutely are and big ol’ backpat for you. Others are just as free and allowed to voice their opinions on your opinions, as much as they want within confines of the forum rules. Ergo, the room-temp in mid-February Spaghetti-O’s take that a certain range on the motion tracker disqualifies it as “Halo” is really, really ridiculous.

(Lastly all of this would have perhaps been less spicy if not for your last sentence, which is childish and indefensible.)

You can try and diminish everyone’s criticism as much as you like, that won’t make the problems go away. You shouldn’t let other people’s opinions ruin your enjoyment of the game. I hope you can find happiness and don’t regret being so hostile in a few months time, after the playerbase has died out.

No kidding, I kinda said that. You know what else I said that would make the problem go away? Actually reporting it. And again “It’s not Halo!” isn’t constructive criticism that is helpful in any way, shape, or form.

Curious where you got this notion, that my enjoyment of this Halo game was ruined by your three-day counter milk take that the motion tracker isn’t Halo because checks notes the range. I find your opinion ridiculous, that doesn’t mean you’re sticking a thorn in my enjoyment of the game.

‘It isn’t Halo’ is pretty clear as criticism. It doesn’t feel like Halo. It doesn’t play like Halo. I you choose to not understand it, that’s on you. It’s a pretty clear and simple notion, I’m not sure why you’re so stuck on that.

Reporting and posting on forums are not mutually exclusive. People are posting on the forums/reddit about the broken melee, yes, but they most likely also submitted tickets. I can’t speak for anyone else, but I know I have. Also, just so you know, companies usually have employees monitor store reviews, reddit and definitely their own forums for any feedback and bugs that aren’t getting submitted by tickets. We’re under 50 employees where I work, and we do it, so it would be highly unlikely 343 doesn’t have extra monitoring considering they’re a pillar in the Xbox 20 year anniversary campaign, backed by Microsoft.

I’m not sure what value you find in throwing shade at criticism that doesn’t perfectly align with yours, especially if you’re also simultaneously posting complaining on the forums. Again, you’re choosing to just antagonize people, simply because you have nothing better to do on a Saturday than get on arguments with strangers online. I see no point in continuing this conversation with you, as you’re just choosing to turn off your brain when reading parts of the arguments people are making and focusing on semantics, unable to understand the bigger picture.

I hope your life turns around man, I truly do.
