I’ve been playing halo since the release of Halo 2. The radar was always nice and had just enough range to where you could help your team in certain situations and most importantly yourself. The radar has changed to where if the enemy is on it, he’s most likely assassinating me, or about to. The thrusters are made to close the gap between two people in a second, in my opinion that should only make more of a reason to make the radar bigger, or at least better than it is now. In the beta it was 30m, now it’s 18. You don’t have to drastically reduce it, taking it down to 25m would have been a subtle change, but with everyone moving faster (constant sprint and thrusters) I don’t even look at the radar anymore. The aim assist has also lost everything to the point where it’s just as hard to shoot your enemies as it is your own team… This is coming from someone who sold accounts on H3, played local tournaments, and game battles. This is the worst halo multiplayer experience I’ve had since reach. Other than the H5 ranking system which penalizes you for having an awful team even though you personally did better than anyone in the entire game, the radar, and magnetism in the aim assist, I don’t mind the game in general. But if none of this stuff changes I don’t see me, or any of my long time halo friends on this game much longer. Back to Destiny unfortunately…and I thought THAT radar was bad.
just so you know, halo doesn’t use a radar, its a motion tracker.
Also, the range is fine on it,
Thanks for explaining something to me that I’ve been staring at for over a decade. You realize everything you say is subjective and this is a forum right?
How is it i always find myself using this “useless” rada?
yeah they need to increase the range, with how fast people move in this game you don’t have any chance in seeing them. i just stopped looking at it to be honest, trust me it isn’t easy thing to do.

just so you know imo the radar is not fine.
Tl;Dr
Dear Halo, please give me a bigger motion tracker and more aim assist. I’m tired of getting killed bunches.
Sincerely,
OP

I’m not asking for more, I’m asking for how halo has always been.

ive also been playing for over a decade. Either let me turn my sensitivity to 30 and dont touch the radar or Increase the radar and keep the Sensitivity Molasses Slow.
Radar/Motion tracker is useful for hinting at enemys so you can turn to meet the challenge since the sensitivity in halo has always been slow. If the radar is tiny and sensitivity super slow, HYPER slow when over a player, then the radar is pretty much useless. Also doesnt help that 7 foot tall 500 pound men running wiht Jet Packs are borderline SILENT. I can soundwhore a knight in dark souls from the basement of anor londo, i cant hear anything in this game with Astro A50s and Effects Volume turned up.
edit: my typos are annoying me. i cant help it.

Yes! Agreed.
I think this is the first time I played a game where the beta was better than the actual release.

Halo Reach’s beta was better than the game. With useful plasma rifles.
For now all i can say is Turn your sensitivity to 10. Its the only way to get responsiveness from the thumbstick. Everything lower than 10, you might as well play without a right thumbstick. And since most people dont or cant, you will have an advantage turning on people, even tho its still slow.
Its part of Why Capturing the Spire in Warzone is so difficult. You have to make at least 2 sharp Turns to meet your opponent. By the time most people have the enemy at the edge of their screen, they are dead. Or hosed down by MLG Marines.
I don’t get it…? Isn’t competitive halo no radar? Mlg rules right? So being some one who played competitive wouldn’t you not use the radar and instead use communication and map knowledge. The radar is great. I love that it is only ment to cover a room and not half a map. I can’t speak on the aim assist since I hardly notice any except on the AR.
The motion tracker is almost useless now. Only when you’re crouched camping is it effective, and I’m certainly not a fan of that play-style.
aim assist is good as is. ranks have alway been on win/loss and not individual performance. radar could use a bit more range tho
1.- Halo 3 had win/loss system like halo 5
2.- The radar does work
3.- The radar in the beta was 80m not 30m
4.- The aim assist is fine

This isn’t halo 3 and people complained too much about the ranking system and that’s why it changed so much.
-
Of course it works, never said it didn’t. But the range is too small.
-
I actually read in an article on this very website by 343 that it was 30m in the beta, and now it’s 18m.
-
No.

This game JUST came out. I’m not playing competitive I want to get to know the game first just like anyone else would want to do. Can’t really use communication when 90% of the people I know haven’t even bought an xbox one yet. The radar can cover maybe a 15 foot room at the most. By the time I notice them it’s too late.
