Does anyone else feel they get ‘psyched out’ during games? I can start off great, 20 kills, but then if i start to get negative its a downward spiral and seemingly i stop being able to hit anything, let alone finish any kills. I went 2-12-15 one game, and that was rock bottom for me right there.
Anyone any advice for Breaking out of a slump, or getting your head back into the game? I am sure its 50% mental and 50% skill
for sure
i get less patient and start charging into battles like an idiot

Have a rest for half an hour.
Exercise.
Anything that isn’t Halo for a bit. Refresh yourself.
If I think I’m doing well, I cannot look at the score board because I will not get anymore kills for some reason lol.
So If I start acting more gung-ho about the game I’ll be less of a scrub? Nobody ever told me it was this easy.

Exactly loll… I get frustrated at playing badly, but I keep rushing like I would normally do, or even more!!!

I agree with this, its like some subliminal part of my brain just shuts down, and i get a rampaging tunnel vision, its strange
I always charge around like a moron
I usually get a solid kill count… and a solid death count haha but it’s just how I like to play, I enjoy the action and being in the thick of it. Not to fussed if I win or lose I just like to kill people and have fun doing it. I find the moment you concentrate too much on kill/death count your gameplay will suffer, for me if I don’t worry about it I’m less stressed and play better. We all have good games and bad games, just have to accept it. I have a mate that always gets slaughtered, he’s happy if he gets killed less than 20 times and gets a kill count in double digits
but we have such a laugh playing anyway it doesn’t matter.
I find myself sometimes trying to do too much for my hopeless teammates that I can get away from my play style and die way to much.

Change tactics. If you’re aggressive, play a support role for a bit and vice versa. Also, try playing a different game for a day or two and come back. Helps me all the time.
I am a Warthog driver and very aggressive base capturer / objective capturer. If I find I keep dying or mess up in the warthog, or just start having bad luck, I quit pushing the objective or quit driving for a while. I do way better as support that’s why if you see my assists, they are always higher than my kills. Between warthog driving and support, that is just how my stats are in every game.
If I hit a slump, I will generally hold defense in a base for a few minutes. Then give it another try. I wont keep doing the same thing over and over again if I keep dying. I try to mix it up. If the slump continues for several games, I switch game modes or just switch games. I play for fun, if I start having a bad experience, I do something different.
I think it’s more or less control of the map which this sort of gameplay promotes. If they have the power weapons/overshield/invis then they are going to start dominating for a short bit. Gotta keep killing them so they don’t even have the time to pick up BR’s/SMG’s/Grenades/Etc
I just play some bf 4 for a while, win some and then stay there for about a good 5 hours or so.
take a break say 24 hour period (make sure that everything in life is peachy)
hop back on, hope that things turn out differently…
back in reach i have that was my first halo and had it quite a bit now i try to stay calm and collective
This happens to me too man. I’m sharp for the first 45 minutes… 20-10-8ish then I start to fall off the cliff. Fatigue, psyching my self out, starting to get careless… it all eventually sets in. What I’ve started to do between matches is 5 pull ups (the chin up bar is close to my game room…) and then remind myself to stay close to teammates. Give them back up - assist or claim a kill or two. They’ll add up. So my advice is to loosen up between matches, remember to stretch and always stay close to your teammates. When I get alone, I get double teamed. I try to play video games after work to unwind but often find that they can be pretty stressful (shooters mainly) when I’m competing with my own K/D.

What’s your play style if you don’t mind me asking? You’re pretty beastly in the MCC… H5 too.
