Except the Arbiter killed Truth with… an ordinary Energy Sword. Or are they going to retcon that, too? It wasn’t a freaky looking energy lobster claw in Halo 3.

Nah, the blood of Truth caused a molecular change in the Energy Sword making it look uglier but somehow also more powerful.
I like the prophets bane. And think that a slightly increased movement speed while carrying it will make it worthwhile as long as the movement is not too fast. Just wish there wasn’t a map indicator and announcer to inform everyone when a power weapon comes onto the map. I didn’t like this feature in destiny and I won’t like it in halo, but maybe its just me.
I actually hope each map has a legendary weapon. Someone already suggested Fist of Rukt, which I feel should either give you long-range gravity powers, or an overshield (or hell, both).

Don’t forget that there are three main Prophet characters in Halo 2.
Fist of Rukt would be an amazing add as a legendary weapon, but instead of the increased speed/lunge of the Prophet’s Bane, it would give an Overshield and the ability to “pull” an enemy spartan towards you, like Tartarus uses it to grab Guilty Spark/Miranda!
Maybe another could be the Energy Cutlass? A blade made of Needler crystal (Blamite!) that could somehow involve being able to snap the blade off in an enemy which would then explode like a supercombine? Maybe it acts as a normal energy sword where you usually only need one slash, but instead it stabs them with the crystal which breaks off and then stays in them without killing them for a few seconds before exploding into shards allowing for possible multikills?
