Who cares about the battle pass progress. It does nothing for you , it’s just cosmetics. The gameplay is all I care for. The game will be fine.
The vast majority of people on reddit, steam forums, waypoint complaining about the progression? You are in the minority. Customizing your spartan has been a huge thing since Halo 3 introduced unlocking different armor.
I couldn’t find oddball to save my friggin life.
I completely agree. I’ve just having fun with friends lol
And I would argue even before that with basic color customization in CE and in 2 the addition of emblems and Spartan/Elite. Obviously not as in depth, but customization has always been a part of the series.
Seriously agree here… why can’t we just go back to the progression from Halo Reach? That worked very well for me, but this is weak. If the game had a full progression system when you buy it for $60, and then had cool additional content I would consider paying for it, but when ALL of the armor is locked behind a paywall I remove the game from my harddrive shrug
Bruh I literally spent two games running around looking for a bulldog to kill 5 people with a bulldog… at least sidekick kills etc are easy enough since you SPAWN WITH IT
I’ve already got bored of the game tbh. 343 outdid themselves again.
Yeah… 77-177 experience per game based on performance should be the norm… I mean what fits more then 77-177 in halo
Here’s the problem $$$ - I’m a frequent battle pass buyer for Rainbow Six Siege and Call of Duty. I will not be buying the Halo battle pass.
Why? Not because I don’t like Halo and don’t want to support the Devs. It’s because I know that with the current system, I won’t reach a high enough level of the battle pass to get my money’s worth. I don’t play for ‘challenges’, I play to have fun and win games. If I can support the devs and get some cool gear while doing so for a few bucks, sure I’ll buy the battle pass. But if I have to jump through hoops and put in overtime to complete challenges, it’s no longer fun. The stress isn’t worth a couple bucks.
TBH Infinite is a great game, and the battle pass isn’t a big deal to me; I’m giving this feedback because I want the devs to make lots of money on this game - unfortunately the current system is not the way to do it.
There are a lot of people that get addicted to the ‘loop’ of leveling up, progression and then showing that progression off through cool cosmetics.
Personally gameplay is easily the most important aspect for me but I think I’m the minority and a large majority enjoy the feeling of progression and enjoy customisation.
There are a lot of people that simply won’t have as much fun or feel as invested in the game if they don’t feel like they’re making any progress or progress is too slow.
They definitely need to fix it and soon.
You should definitely get some xp for winning games etc.
I’m going to note some things here about the progression system.
To start with, this first season lasts for around 162 days, this is quite long for the first season. Plus, unlike MCC (In which you have to buy) Halo Infinite is F2P. Whilst I cannot defend everything 343 has done, they have to get cashflow from somewhere to keep the servers on, pay staff, create more content, etc.
But I do agree that 343 may have to change the system they currently use, as completing challenges for XP to progress in this battlepass is slow and tedious at best, especially for people who may be short on time.
In almost every game the things worth obtaining requires endless hours to reach. For those of use with full time jobs and kids, this is a great progression system. Also, just look at the challenges and complete them. It’s really easy to progress if you don’t just use the assault rifle the whole game and actually challenge yourself to play a different way.
The only reason that this is even an issue is because the core game loop is so good! If this was Halo 4 or 5 and they had the balls to try and pull this off it would die instantly. Those aren’t even bad games, but they are not special. Infinite feels special.
Full heartedly agreed… MCC felt 100x more rewarding and worthwhile than Infinite, in terms of progression and 'Battle Pass, even the Weekly challenges! Like sure there’s the item given for completing the weekly challenges but… it ain’t worth it. I don’t honestly want to play a match of the Multiplayer, because I know it’s not worth it. Hot take, i’d actually, un ironically, play and grind for Req points in Halo 5 over a single match of Infinite. At least i’d be rewarded with something worth while, rather than another useless ‘Weekly exchange’ tokan or whatever
yeah the challenges are awful, it kills the game so much
Agree with others.
I stated during flight this would be horrible and slow.
I have only 2 weekly challenges left and that’s it, not counting daily. How will I level up after those 2? There are no more challenges available. Also the Premium BP allows you to have 4 challenges available but since there are no more that’s a loss. Idk if it’s a bug but being out of challenges in a day and half is horrible.
At least with MCC you get per match XP with how well you did. Infinite just doesn’t offer a reason to come back and potentially keep playing… just every once a week is it worth
Late Night Gaming summarized this best, the progression system feels stifling and does feel like the game is rewarding you for playing the way you want to play. The best fix for this should be a return to an xp per match with additional challenges for experience.
The best fix for all of this is to do what Reach did with the progression, simple as that. or what they’re doing with MCC
