The Problem with the red "glow"

So after watching the new gameplay that came out, I noticed something. With the new “glow” system for friend or foe differentiation it seems very hard to tell if an enemy has lost their shields or not… The glow is very overpowering and (coming from someone who has been playing Halo since before Bungie left) I found myself mistaking it for the shield glow (i.e. when taking damage). I think even beyond aesthetics this is another case for allowing players the option to switch from the glow to a more simple “red marker” above an enemy (or no marker at all, and only have friendly markers, etc). I understand the need with the removal of team colours, but I hope I’ve explained why it’s not an ideal solution.

Apart from that, the gamplay looks fun! I can’t wait to try it out.

I think we are overanalyzing things that we will never care about within the 3 seconds we encounter them. Maybe not however I don’t want to slow down video too much until I experience it. They can also fix it after.

I can see where you are coming from with the concern, but up until you’ve actually been feet first in the experience, don’t get to caught up in worries till you know the effects.

Oh, I might not have made it clear, but what I said was my first impression of the gameplay, not me analysing something that “might” be an issue. While I was watching I was actively uncertain of the status of enemy’s shields during fights. Of course you might be right and I could change my mind when I actually play it myself, but from what I was thinking while watching this was my impression.

just wear tinted glasses and it will be okay.
