The problem with the ranking system is not with the system itself, no the win-lose system is great especially for a competitive game like what Halo is. The problem is with the people that you get in your matches. To be competitive one needs to go against people close to there rank. Something that has been said many times in the forums is how the win-lose style sucks because a team can lose because of one bad person and it’s fair to say that. I hate it when I go 25-1 (which this did happen) and lose because of my team. I should have never been paired in a game where I could go 25-1 and a the team should have never been paired against people that could beat them even if they had a person give them half the kills necessary to win.
I understand this is a beta and the population may not be high enough for everyone to be put in the perfect game for them but what really makes me made is what happened in the last game I just played. In the end its ok to have a few bad players play with some really good players but what seems to happen is all the good players will be on one team. It makes me think the how the system works is, it will pair a team of highly skilled players and players that aren’t that skilled at the same time (which is fine) but where it goes bad is the fact that the skilled players will be on the same team and the lower skilled plays will play against them. The last game I played the highest rank on my team was me being a silver almost a gold playing against a team that was three onyx’s and a semi-pro. Needless to say we got stomped. This has been happening a lot to me getting to the point where I need to pray that my team isn’t under ranked for the game.
All that would be needed to alleviate this problem is to mix the highly skilled players in with the lower skilled players. If my team was two of the onyx and one unranked player against the semi-pro, onyx and two unranked then the game would have been close thus making it more competitive.
I think the ranking system is very flawed. They need to have check and balances. I love when it’s 3 vs 4 and you loose 89 points when you clearly had a slim to none chance of winning. If the teams are unbalanced loose very little points. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve been to gold tier 3 and dropped back down to tier 1 because of terrible teammates and seen people in onxy with terrible kda compared to me . Won 5 games earlier got a total of 14 points in 5 games! Lost two games and drop 89 each one. Hard to make any progress that way. It’s a beta tho hopefully it will improve when game releases.

In an age where false morals are a diamond dozen, true virtues are a blessing in the skies. We often put our false morality on a petal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas, but you all seem to be taking something very valuable for granite. So I ask of you to mustard up all the strength you can because it is a doggy dog world out there. Although there is some merit to what you are saying it seems like you have a huge ship on your shoulder. In your argument you seem to throw everything in but the kids Nsync, and even though you are having a feel day with this I am here to bring you back into reality. I have a sick sense when it comes to these types of things. It is almost spooky, because I cannot turn a blonde eye to these glaring flaws in your rhetoric. I have zero taller ants when it comes to people spouting out hate in the name of moral righteousness. You just need to remember what comes around is all around, and when supply and command fails you will be the first to go. Make my words, when you get down to brass stacks it doesn’t take rocket appliances to get two birds stoned at once. It’s clear who makes the pants in this relationship, and sometimes you just have to swallow your prize and accept the facts. Yes there is a flaw in the ranking system and it does need some work. When you’re put in a game that you’re almost guaranteed to win you get a smaller amount of experience. When you got the 14 exp in the five games you were on a team that had the higher ranked players not to mention that you could have been a higher rank then your enemy team, I really don’t know and this is just the most like situation, and the games were you lost you really didn’t lose 89 exp. because a bug in the system each time you went up and down a rank it would say ±89. I don’t know why this happens and it needs to be fixed. This is also not saying that you lost too exp then you should have. its something that 343i needs to fix.

Irons should match Irons, Golds should match Golds, Semis should match players within 100 points or something. It is really not that hard. Instead, Unranked players matches Golds, and Irons matches Pros etc. The concept of matching similarly skilled players seems to have escaped 343 since Reach. Come to think of it, have 343 Industries ever successfully implemented such a system. I dont believe they have.
Im sure you have no problem thinking youre the greatest and ranking up when an opponent goes 1 - 15 though.

I’m only saying that because of a possible lack of players. I would rather play with people much higher or lower them me if it means I can play the game. I would prefer having it where everyone is in a match that is for them personally but sense it was a beta the population may have been too small for it which is why I suggested a mix in the teams. 343i should try to match everyone and if there’s the one game that it doesn’t happen then have it where the teams are somewhat balanced, which seemed to happen in the last update to the beta.
