Okay, so I have a really big issue with the ranking system in the Halo 5: Guardians BETA, not so much a glitch as it is just frustrating, as I think it should be changed. I know the game is (in most gametypes), team based, but I believe that if I get put on a terrible team and we lose, but I have the most kills and best K/D ratio in the game, then I shouldn’t get penalyed as I was doing my job for the team. I get put on teams where either there is somebody who is afk, someone is new, or someone just plain out sucks at the game, therefore I think it is unfair to keep the ranking system as it is, and should be, in my opinion, changed to only the kill and death ratio. If I get more kills than deaths, I gain XP, if I get more deaths than kills I lose XP, depending on how good or bad the K/D ratio is, that’s how much XP is gained or lost.
while i do agree the ranking system seems to be a bit unfair in terms of how little it goes up and how quick it goes down if you lose, it is called team slayer. therfore you must win for your rank in that play list to increase.
i do welcome the kda ratio now as finally someone takes in account assists but regardless if you want a rank based on sole performacne you will have to wait until lone wolf

Not only in team slayer, all team based game modes, meaning (all we can play as of now) team slayer and Breakout, but it’s very unfair if everybody on your team sucks and you do all the work and get more kills than everybody on your team and the other team, but still lose, resulting in loss of XP and possibly going down in rank, not including the SR rank.
The ranking system is unfair. Team slayer or not, you shouldn’t get punished if your teammates don’t want to work together, but you are busting your butt trying to find them while they are getting slaughtered and you are racking kills. Maybe a hybrid system would be better. The player with highest K/D ratio on the losing team doesn’t gain our lose anything. Or if one of your teammates is afk lessen the loss points and increase the win points since the match is unfair. Regardless, changes need to be made to the halo 5 ranking system, even if they are just minor tweaks.
Totally agree. Just got mvp in a match we lost 45_46 I had most medals etc double and triple kills etc played really well. And got deducted -91. That’s plain and simply not fair. But in a game I didn’t pay well in we won I went up 13. Then another game i played bad in not good kd etc team won i went up 43. There isn’t any consistency.
I really hate it when I have to take a penalty because one or two players quit on my team. Therefor leaving me with only one option: losing.
Were you using a mic and calling out? Were you sticking with your teammates and helping them? Or maybe you were in an objective game not going for the objective and just trying to get a high k/d. If someone performs really well it would be nice if there was a way to penalize them less. But there are plenty of people who can be terrible teammates and still get a good k/d. The ranking system should be about your wins. They are trying to be a competitive shooter so wins are what’s important. Great play will eventually lead to winning.

I shouldn’t have to put on a mic, that’s why they have the Spartan make call outs, I still contribute to the team if I’m the one doing everything
Yep, agree with this. There have been games I’ve done really well but my team have gotten slaughtered and I lose rank.
There have also been games where I’ve been slaughtered but my team have pulled me through and I’ve gained rank.
So it’d be good if it also took personal performance into account.
I like the new ranking systems that they have, but the only problem I have with it is I believe how many points you lose when you lose a game. It doesn’t matter if the game is 50-49 or 50-5, you’re still losing the same amount of points. I personally have played the same team three times in a row, won the best of 3 series 2-1. 1st game I gained 9 points or something but when we lost game two I lost like 30. Ideally it needs to a section tiered 1-50 rankings. if your high skill in a playlist is a 47, split them up into 3 tiers and that way you get matched up with people in your ranked tier, higher or lower, and base point gains off that. Of course if 50’s are running with a 6 then obviously the level six shouldnt get that much of a gain, only to stop derankers and boosters. But lets say you get a 50, I think there should be a silver, gold, onyx, semi, and pro tier rating just to beef up the competition to get to your next tier while 1-49 are stuck with silver, gold and onyx. Just my thoughts on a ranking system that would work in my opinion.
