The problem with Halo 4 is long-ranged fights

343 thought that adding in community suggestions would be a good idea. Some of the suggestions would have been a good idea if they only used one of them. However, multiple tweaks translate to big changes.

Adding no unscoping, very low DMR bloom and being slowed down while being shot are good ideas by themselves, however when you couple all of these together it means that you have almost no shot surviving a long ranged fight if the enemy gets the first shot off.

Thoughts?

It also doesn’t help that every map is either:
A long, open corridor with little to no cover so sprint can feel more welcome.
Or:
A large, open field with little to no cover so sprint can feel more welcome.

We all know the maps by now, so if you’re running out in the middle of Exile or Ragnarok with your flanks open, then you deserve to get DMR, Carbined, or LRd, and even BRd for being an easy target.

The point is that I shouldn’t have to, just like I could run out in H3 without being instantly gunned down by a camper on the hill.

Wait… did you really put a link in your sig to where you supposedly ‘predicted’ DMR nerf threads? Classy. I have a hard time agreeing with your post for that.

Most developers do add what the community suggests…

There’s nothing inherently wrong with you losing a stand off if the other guy gets the jump on you. You really should be using cover as much as possible and utilising your radar (if available) anyway to ensure this doesn’t happen. If not, at least group up or form up into a team or something.

From all the comlaints I’ve read on this forum, I get the impression a lot of players just lone wolf all the team based gametypes and then wonder why it doesn’t go their way…
