People believe that the Precursors will show up at the end of the Campaign, I have to say that this won’t happen. Why? Its simple, if we are fighting them at the end, we would fight them in Spartan Ops. Spartan Ops takes place 6 months after the Campaign, and we’re fighting the Promethean AI’s, not Precursors. I wish we would confront them, but sadly we aren’t. What do you think?
Precursors, in my opinion, won’t be seen until Halo 5 or Halo 6.
But who really controls the Promethean AIs?
I’m a little bit ignorant on this topic, what are the precursors?
> I’m a little bit ignorant on this topic, what are the precursors?
A mysterious race even more ancient than the Forerunners.

Just because they are revealed to be the Ultimate enemy doesn’t mean we get to fight them directly. For example: Mass Effect 1-2 and the Reapers.

Creators of all life in the galaxy. Conversely, they also killed entire races of beings when it suited their needs. They also created the Flood.

I really like how they continue to just make up stuff in the halo universe.
by mysterious what do you mean?

As much spence as this makes 343i says they still haven’t shown the ancient enemy. Plus they get to choose what spartan ops levels we get to see at this point so they could just be staying away from the precursors.

It isn’t made up out of thin air or recently if that’s what you’re thinking.

343i made them up despite Bungie creating their foundation back in Halo 3…right.

Well, I’m not finished reading Halo Cryptum yet, but the main character in the book (a Forerunner) is very interested in learning about the history of the Precursors, who mysteriously vanished from the universe. They left some artifacts behind (kind of like what the Forerunners did, and how the humans and Covenant began to find them). Other than that, I don’t know very much about them…
I would definitely recommend reading Halo Cryptum if you’re into the books, though. Very interesting novel, and a very fast read. Really expands on the Halo universe and adds a TON of great new stuff, including an excellent look at the history of the humans and the Forerunners, as well as hints of things to come in (presumably) Halo 4.

Really? They have written halo novels that talk about them. All this fiction has a place in the halo universe so don’t be ignorant.

I love halo and all but reading just isn’t my forte, I did however read the first 3 novels and I have to admit they were really good.
as for when the forerunners show up in the halo games it makes sense they would show up somewhere between halo 4-6. I mean what else would this ancient evil be?
don’t expect them until much much later in the halo series if there’s a third trilogy then expect some more info on them by then

I call bull, even if it’s canon. That is taking the Halo lore way too far.
> But who really controls the Promethean AIs?
^^This, I was thinking that the Precursors would have taken control of the AI’s. Since the Forerunners just wanted to help the universe. Not destroy it.

Read premodium next bornstellar and chakus actually meat one.
The Precursors are the most likely candidate for Ancient Evil. And we’ve only seen snippets of one mission from Spartan Ops, and we have very little information on a lot of stuff for Halo 4’s story. That doesn’t rule out the Precursors at all.

Deception and jordan have the right mindset. Their is also supporting evidence to suggest humans may also be carrying specific elements know to precursors though it is generally waved off as the precursors are life creators. The big thing now is not to dive too far into the fiction, but find the key traces and elements that 343 has laid out for the better portion of CEA and the books. Heck, there’s even a few things laid out in plain sight on Reach which are mysterious by nature. Here’s a hint:
CEA map - Prisoner/Solitary - Go look at the actual doors. They aren’t doors at all.
