Do you think that the Precursors will return in this game? With all the hints in Primordium, do you think that they will come back?
It is a possibility. It was said they were wiped off by the Forerunners, however it was also hinted that they could travel between Galaxies. This means they could’ve retreated to somewhere like Andromeda, then come back with updated Technology to kick the Forerunners to the ground. This could explain why we would fight them, as humans are supposed to look very similar to the Forerunners. The Precursors could mistake humanity as Forerunners, and attack them. I would actually like to see the Precursors as enemies. We’ve seen Forerunner tech, now lets see something even more powerful!

The Covenant took too much of a hit to be the main enemy, 343 Industries is too smart to make the flood the main enemy (the gameplay would get too boring,)and I would guess the the Forerunners would be friendly with the 2550s humanity. That leaves the Precursors, of whom we know very little about; 343 can shape them into whatever they like.

To be honest, i’d hate it if they looked similar to the flood, I never enjoyed fighting those little boogers, :P.
The Covenant was destroyed and all of the flood that escaped Installation 04 and 07 were killed which means the flood aren’t a threat any more unless the ones held in storage on the other Halo rings are released. The Precursors are said to be making a return to reclaim the Mantle and the Forerunners need all the help they can get from humanity. I think it’s safe to say that the Precursors are the main enemy. The question to ask is are we going to meet them up close in person or by other ways?

The Flood and the Precursors are the same–Precursors are advanced Graveminds.
Besides, the Flood can be adapted to fit the role as primary antagonist (it’s part of their biology), but I think you’ll need to get used to the idea of fighting them. If the Precursors were the primary fighting force, the Master Chief would be -Yoinked!-. They are gods, beyond mortal comprehension.
