The "power" of the numbers

If you go into the old Halo games you will see that the player counter doesn´t work, the first case is Halo Wars, its says that there are 975 players online, and there are players online but the numbers of the total count and the playlists count never changes, they haven´t changed for years.

The second case is Halo Reach (Aniversary multiplayer too), it says that there are 0 players in each playlist, but there are players even in aniversary firefigth.

The third case is Halo 3, in the total player counter it just says 197 or 193, just that numbers, in the playlist counter it says 0 players online (in lone wolves sometimes says 34) and as im saying, there still players online.

I know that they are just numbers, but details make games better, even if they are old games. Recently Bravo said that the Halo community is recovering ,in certain way, and that is good to hear, but i would also want to see it, i want to see the numbers, the actual total amount of players, the change of the numbers when a player enters the matchmaking just like in Halo 4, as part of the community i want someone to fix this (i dont know if 343 Industries manage this games).

Is to much for ask, because as I have said, there are just numbers

But they’re not just numbers. They have different value for different people, but mostly they’re a guage that tells kids whether or not they’re sitting at the cool table, and I think 343 would rather have you decide to play Halo because you like Halo, not because a bunch of other people like Halo.

I have to agree with this. The last game I played with a counter was Titanfall. My favorite playlist (pilot hunter) never had anyone on it so I never attempted to join the playlist. I like the idea of a counter but the implementation of one can drastically change what and when people play. The fact that there isn’t a counter in H5 and I can join any playlist I want and immediately find a game does denote that the player pop is healthy and that is a good enough sign for me to judge that this game is doing fairly well.
